Description for Dodge Other Pickups 1965
Selling a nice driver 1968 DODGE D100 1/2 TON PICKUP that came from Arkansas. I have used this as my shop truck for over a year now. So most of the problems with a old vehical that has been sitting in a barn has been fixed. This truck is powered by the reliable 318 ci V8 and has the heavy duty 727 Automatic transmission. It had Manual Steering and Manual Brakes with drums on all 4 corners. The auto shiffter is original and on the dash. When I got the truck the transmission was bad from sitting for years so I pulled the transmission and had it rebuilt. The radiator was out when I got the truck so I put in a NEW Aluminum Radiator and transmission cooler. While the transmission was out I pulled the motor out to put new gaskets on it and repaint it. When I had the valve covers off and the oil pan off I could see it was a clean engine. I pulled the front brake drums off and put NEW front wheel bearings in it. The rear axle had the fluid changed and new axle seals and while the axles were out I put in NEW axle bearings also. The battery is a new Rural King battery made by Excide. I also put on a new Starter from NAPA. After I drove it for a while I put on a NEW master cylinderfrom NAPA and flushed the brake fluid. The steering box was sent to a company in AZ to be rebuilt so now the front end is tight and drives great. It got a new single exhaust pipe and glaspack muffler. The tires in the pictures were weather cracked so I replace all 4 Tires. The reartires are NEW and the front tires have about 3,000 miles on them. The windsheild was cracked so I had a new windsheild put in it and while at it put in a new seal on the rear window. The door seals have been replaced but there is some sloppy glue that needs cleaned up. The body is really solid with a few bubbles in the doors and fenders and cab corners. The spot on the left door and left cab corner is not rust but is primer showing and white paint that was splashed on it. When i tried to clean it off with laquer thinner it started taking off the paint so I stopped. That is why there is primer showing. The floor pans are original and in good shape with a little putty smeared over some pin hiles on the edge by the foot well. The cab mounts are good. The bed floor had rust and someone put in steel diamond tread plate. The body was repainted years ago with some cheap acrilic paint. It shines up with wax but is peelint around the trim in a few spots. The original colir was a shade darker but is close to the Petty Blue it is now. The lights work but the turn signals need a wire fixed. It clicks under the dash but the turn signals do blink. The brake lights work also. The wipers work on both speeds. There was never a radio. The fan works on all speeds and the heat works but the cable is stuck that adjusts it from cold to hot. I just turn off the fan when it gets hot. The speedometer works. The gas guage works but most old cars I've owned are not accurate so I don't run it low. The tem guage does not work. I tested it and it is the guage itself that is bad. The oil and generator light work also. The horn is not working and has the center is not on. I have the horn center and have not had time to look at the horn. The dome light needs fixed also. The sunvisors are missing the center clip that they sit in. Mileage iss unknown but could be actual. Overall it's a great to drive and fix a few things or would be a great truck to restore or hot rod. When I got this truck I purchased it out of a collection of 60 Cars. I have a clear Arkansas title but they had me sign that the truck had previous water damage from a 6" rain they had there. The water enter the flor board about 3" in the interior. Since this is owned by my shop and I hae a Dealer license in Illinois then if you are a Illinois resident you will have to pay sales tax on the selling price and title in your name and I can do plates if you want. Also, In Illinois if a car has had water in the florr the title has to be marked Flood on it. If you are out of state buyer you will get the Clear Arkansas titled signed over and a bill of sale. If you want to see more on the truck go to YOUTUBE and I have Video of this truck. Just search 68 D100 and it will come up under my channel badmusclecars. If you have any questions and want to talk to me you can c all me at two one seven eight two five nine seven one eight.
