Description for Dodge Challenger 1970
What you see here is NOT a professional restoration. It is a labor of love. I am not a professional car restorer. I am simply a retiree who has been a Mopar car enthusiast my entire life. I decided to accept the ultimate challenge by creating my fantasy car. I decided to build a 100% original stock 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi 4-speed car. In 2006 I purchased a rust free 1970 Dodge Challenger with a six cylinder engine and a column shifted automatic transmission in excellent condition. And that is exactly what I did. I completed the body work and then painted the car Hemi Orange. Over the next five years I collected over $50. 00 in NOS. reproduction and used parts. I have the receipts and documentation to prove the claim. The goal was an as delivered stock ’70 R/T. This Challenger features a Mopar Performance Crate 426 Hemi engine. nbsp; an 833 4-speed manual transmission. Dana 60 rear axle with 4:10 gears. a rally gauge. bucket seat. console interior. and power front disk/rear drum brakes Virtually every single part in this car is new or restored. Listed below are just some of the Hemi specific parts used to build this car: · Mopar Performance Crate 426 Hemi with single 4-bbl intake manifold · Holley 81770 Carburetor · Stock hemi exhaust manifolds Hemi brake booster · Hemi torque boxes · Hemi Crank Pulley · Hemi intake manifold heat tube kit · Hemi battery cable set · Hemi springs with heavy duty shackles · 26” Mopar Big Block radiator with Hemi fan clutch · Year One 920 diameter torsion bars · Hemi starter heat shield · Hemi power steering hose and fitting · Mopar Hemi K-frame · Hemi skid plate · Schumacher Creative Services Hemi motor mounts I could not possibly list all the new parts used in the completion of this car here; however. a partial list includes: · KYB Gas Adjust shocks front and rear · Goodmark chrome bumpers with bumper guards · Hotchkiss rear sway bar · Year One front sway bar · Aluminum bell housing · Digital AM/FM/Stereo with RCA jacks for CD Player. Goodrich T/A – 265 RWL tires · Year One electrical harnesses. front. engine. main · Mopar high torque mini-starter with heat shield · JEGS forged distributor · Mopar Performance orange box electronic ignition conversion · Mopar Hi note/Low note horns · Fine Lines fuel lines · McLeod clutch · Brewer Performance flywheel. clutch disk. bell housing & clutch parts · US Car Tool restored front end with Poly bushings and RMS adjustable tubular Control Arms · Passion4mopars windshield wiper motor · MBM Brakes front disk brake conversion · Real Time Engineering gauge rebuilds · Tuff Stuff 100 amp single wire alternator · AMD hood hinges · Mancini Racing Dana 60 differential yokes · Wheel opening moldings I have made the following changes to the car since completing the restoration to increase reliability and drivability. They are: · March Performance engine serpentine belt system (original Hemi brackets/alternator/belts included) · Holly Red electric fuel pump (original Hemi fuel pump included) · Stock resonators removed for more aggressive sound (resonators are included) This car is not perfect. But it is of excellent driver quality and a car show winner. The engine runs flawlessly. the transmission shifts smoothly and every light. switch. gauge. window. etc. works as intended. The car has never seen rain and have been driven less than 200 miles since completing the restoration. You can own this car for substantially less money than it took put it together. Thank you for looking.
