Description for Ferrari Other 1979

Ferrari 1973 Daytona Spyder McBurnie Replica This Ferrari Daytona Spyder replica was built by Tom McBurnie back in the 80’s. For those of you who are not familiar with Tom McBurnie he was the builder chosen by Michael Mann the Executive Producer for NBC’s Miami Vice. The McBurnie build Ferrari Daytona was essentially the star of Miami Vice back in the 80’s. Don Johnson AKA Sonny Crockett drove a McBurnie replica Ferrari Daytona Spyder for the first two season of Miami Vice. The car featured here is a two owner car. I purchased the car in the spring of 2011 from the original owner who purchased the car directly from Tom McBurnie. The car itself is built on a 1979 Corvette Chassis. The engine is a Chevy 350 with a 4 speed transmission. Nothing has been done to upgrade the powertrain. The engine has been tuned and maintained regularly since I have owned the car. It has a lot of power for the car. It is a blast to drive. I did have the car lowered to give it a better look. The wheels, make no mistake about it, those whire wheels are authentic Borrani rims. I had the rims custom ordered and built with the exact offset for this car to give it a great stance and look. The tires are Michelin XWX’s with less than 750 miles on them. The wheels are $2,500 per rim (3 - 6 month delivery from date of order) and tires are $500 each. Total wheel/tire package is $15,000!!! I also have the original McBurnie rims as well that will be included in the sale. I had the wheels/tires put on the car in the spring of 2014. Then the car was lowered. The car was thoroughly tuned up. The car is very solid to drive. I had the car at 100 mph (on July 31, 2016) and there is zero vibration in the chassis or on the steering wheel. This car was going to be a total complete rebuild for me. But unfortunately I have to put her up for sale. I am selling for $32,500. Deduct the Borrani/Michelin wheel package ($15,000) from the price and the car comes in at $17,500!!! You will not find a better deal for a Daytona Spyder in this condition. Let me be clear, I am not interested to sell the car without the Borrani/Michelin wheel/tire package. The wheels were custom built for the car and I really don’t want to have to try to sell them separately. At $32,500 this is a tremendous deal for this car. Let me take you through a few more points. The interior is good. It does have the appearance of being of a Daytona style. The seats are very comfortable. There is an am/fm cassette deck in the car. If you keep the car long term I do recommend installing an up to date sound system. The top is in average condition. The outside looks great. However the rear window has discolored and most likely would need to be replaced. The top also does not seal tightly when the windows are up. Everything else about the car works. The body is fiberglass and the right rear wheel fender has some cracking in the fiberglass. Remember this is a car build on a 79 Corvette chassis. I hate to sell it. If you are serious give me a call. I will do my best to answer any questions you have. I can coordinate shipping for you but at the purchasers cost. Russ 702-296-9865
