Selling a very special car. This is supposed to be serial #001 built by DAYTONA SPYDER MOTOR CORP. Less than 700 miles! They built Ferrari Daytona's in the late eighties at the same time as Mcburnie. They eventually got shut down by Ferrari, but built some of the nicest Daytona's fully optioned! This is the best Daytona I have ever driven. I also own serial #002. These Daytona's are built on it's own frames purchased brand new from General Motors. No donor cars were used in the manufacturing. All parts & engine were purchased brand new! No used parts were used to build these Daytona's. Back then in 1988 the list price was $60,000 and approximately they built just over 150 cars. I also owned a red Mcburnie Daytona and sold it. It didn't compare to the engineering and drivability of this Daytona. Titled has an 1989 Daytona. Clean Florida Title.
Body: Features a sleek steel reinforced, Kevlar-Graphite composite body. They were built inside Daytona Spyder Motor Corp. 60,000sf facility located in North Miami. It took the company 3 years to design & engineer this exact car. Which was later placed in the company's showroom. The previous owner had the vehicle for 25 years, which I ended up buying both cars from him. The Daytona was kept in A/C garage.
Options: These cars were built fully optioned with Power Brakes, 4-wheel disc brakes, Power steering, Power windows, Air conditioning, Leather interior, power pop up lights, performance upgrades, and more.
Interior: is Bridge of Weir leather upholstery, not cheap vinyl in most replicas. This is the real deal. Leather covered dash, side pillars, center console, doors, side panels etc...Car was fitted with wool carpets, Hartz Stayfast canvas top, VDO gauges, Walnut trim, automatic transmission, Air conditioning, Power Windows, Stereo system, etc...
Emblem: When Miami Vice built the Daytona for the show they had made a mistake by placing the Ferrari emblem to high. Daytona Motor Corp did the same to replicate the first couple episodes of the car during the show. What I also like is the bumpers painted in black gives it a little modern look. Out on the street this Daytona gets tons of attention and questions at the cars and coffee. This car belongs in a Museum. Every little bolt on this car was brand new!
Suspension: Four-Wheel independent positive traction, front and rear anti-sway system, performance shocks, stainless steel caliper brakes, Power brakes, front disc brakes & rear disc brakes!
Engine: The Daytona is powered by a brand new General Motors Chevrolet V8 350 crate engine. Some engine performance modifications were made by Daytona Motor corp. fitting a bigger and more powered carburetor with dual chambers, tuned header system with dual exhaust etc...According to the specification sheet the Daytona does 0-60mph in 5 seconds. It is a very fast car.
