Description for Fiat 600 Multipla 1959
Fiat 600 Multipla Series 1 Classic / 1959 / LHD / With Low Italian Owners / 6 Seater Taxi Configuration / Beautifully Conserved Condition - Unique Investment Opportunity! $45,000
We are truly privileged to offer to the market this beautifully conserved & highly desirable 1959 Fiat 600 Multipla Series 1 model with 6 seat taxi configuration. These are now incredibly scarce & the collector's favourite. (Not the more available Series 2 examples). It's a genuine LHD Italian black plate 1959 example with matching motor. First registered in Pistoia & then in recent years residing in Benevento a city & commune of Campania, capital of the province of Benevento, 50 KM's northeast of Naples. PT 025752 is showing a total mileage of 63,585 KM from new, stated as correct by the elderly vendor Achille. This true survivor is showing an excellent original undercarriage with factory floor ribs & spot welds.
This unrepeatable example underwent a full glass out repaint approximately 4 years ago in Italy to UK standards & included the exterior, interior & engine bay. The paintwork is standing up incredibly well indeed, holding a deep lustre & has just had the full 3M treatment in our workshop, so it looks radiant. The owner a Fiat Club Italia member, used the vehicle to attend local classic shows, but decided that this completed vehicle in light of rising prices for Series 1 examples was far too valuable to use on a regular basis. We spotted this desirable vehicle at a car show he attended in Benevento a truly beautiful location. We left our details & interest in its purchase. The proud owner (Achille) called back a few months later & a sensible deal was eventually brokered. We were eager to obtain this Multipla due to it being the best preserved example bar none that we had ever seen or driven in terms of floor pans, wheel arches & the usual trouble spots - I don't believe there can be a better Series 1 example available for the price requested.
Achille worked with an entrusted local marquee specialist whom stripped the vehicle back to the bare metal as required, prior to priming . The vehicle was then expertly sanded & blocked to achieve the best panel fit & no doubt as good as factory standards of finish. The body was then fully primed & finally the vehicle was painted inside & outside in the original colours but in a modern paint system & oven baked. This was a real labour of love, with no expense spared & shows in the final finish. Whilst the motor & gear box were out, they were overhauled. The suspension & running gear, electrical, mechanical, rubbers & seals etc. were all checked over & tested & repaired as required. The original parts were reused & parts were only replaced if the originals could not be restored. The exterior bright work was all rechromed or machine polished. A new floor covering was fitted, with the interior being expertly retrimmed in the original colours prior to refitting by local artisans. They even made little infill sections to go between the rear seats, so you can cram even more people in the back! This included the door cards & head lining also.
We have the Italian log book, along with pictures of the car in the owner's local town square prior to the sale!
It is a truly original & well detailed example that must surely be one of the most original & unique in the world. I have been dying to find a period correct example like this since I went to the Goodwood Revival last summer & we were taken around the circuit in a Multipla taxi, they use them normally at the Revival to transport VIPs around!
I fell in love there & then & have been literally hunting the globe to find a decent one since.
On its recent arrival to our shores, we have been meticulous in our further preparation prior to offering this exception example to the market by undertaking the following works: Fitted the correct engine decal set, new Varta battery, chrome period wiper blades, supplied a fresh MOT and conducted a multipoint check, replaced the fuel with £35 of new super unleaded, set the timing, given the cheeky little chap a full service including NGK plugs, New coil, fuel filter, oil & filter change, antifreeze flush & replacement just to be sure!
A full 3M machine polish of the external paintwork, specialist polished the hub caps, repainted the air filter box along with the rocker cover. Prepared & painted the spare wheel.Fitted white wall spats, a period correct wing mirror, New sun visors, Fiat Key ring, ACI club sticker & had the roof rack specially commissioned by our associated artisan metal worker.
What you see with this unique example is what you get. You could actually use this example for every day use, transportation to the Revival, or as a contender at classic car shows & be proud of it in any circumstance.
Find another as well preserved with this low mileage, low ownership & as structurally excellent.
Period ivory set over green with cream steel wheels & a light tan interior.
Fresh UK MOT with NO advisories. - (But MOT exempt in the UK).
Historic road tax.
Period roof rack included in the sale & luggage is available on request.
Our Fiats come recommended by a leading authority - Ricambio International Ltd. I actually have a light blue 1964 500D that makes up part of my own private collection & everybody loves it! (I would love to keep this example as part of my own collection also). It always puts a smile on my face, plus you don't need to worry about the rising petrol prices - Just enjoy.
This sensational Multipla is located in my heated garage in Beckenham, Kent, England, 30 mInutes drive from London Gatwick airport or 60 minutes drive from London Heathrow airport.
The vehicle comes with original Italian papers.
