Description for Ford Mustang 1969
I purchased this vehicle in December of 1999, thad been sitting unattended for 20+ years according to the seller. I have spent the last 15 years getting it where it is today. What you are bidding on is a real deal "R" Code 428 Super Cobra Jet with the Factory Drag Pack option. Painted to the original factory color - Indian Fire, his is one awesome ride. The engine was completely overhauled and re-built by Myer Performance and runs like new, t has the original re-built to factory new condition correct Holly Carb, did opt for a little more aggressive cam and it does have headers, hich were very had to find for this engine. The transmission has been completely rebuilt and the "rare" clutch for this vehicle has been replaced with a new one that was next to impossible to find. The drive shaft is new with all of the correct markings as is the rear end, .91 Detroit Locker (which is what was factory correct), put on Ansen Wheels and Mickey Thompson Tires, ut have the original Styled Steel Wheels. I did opt for a Hurst Shifter, ather than the factory plain shifter. The suspension has been totally upgraded with everything all new, ncluding new front disc brakes and new rear drum brakes (as it was new). The interior is all new and the exterior trim is either new or refurbished. There are a few things that I have just not gotten to as yet: 1) This was originally a "radio delete" car, put in a factory AM/8Track - which needs to be hooked up, ) Horns need to be hooked up - I had the factory rim-blow steering wheel restored, ) Turn signals need to be hooked up, ) Windshield wipers need to be made functional, here is a new motor, ) Minor wiring "cleanup" under the hood, ust to make it look nicer. That's about it, just have not had the time to get those things done, nd sitting here in Florida and the car is at home in Michigan, just decided it needs to go to a new home. Thanks for bidding!!! (Similar cars have been going through the auctions (Barrett-Jackson & Mecum) at over $100,000. I do have a complete Marti Report! (The Framed Edition) I have lots of parts, tc that will go to the buyer.
