Description for Ford Model T 1926
Here is my 1926 Ford Model T modified. This is a nice car with a lot of great little details. This car would be great for this year's Race of Gentleman. I can't guarantee it would be in the race but there has been interest in having the car there. The car will stand out at a car show too. The car has been recently gone over with several changes like paint, otor and hood. The car previously had a 4 banger.Let's start with the chassis. The car sits on a 1927 Essex frame with a model t crossmember placed in the back. It has a Dodge double dip axle with Ford spindles and brakes. The rear is a 46 Ford truck open banjo hung by a Model T spring. Wheels are 17 inch Ford wires with Excelsior tires. Tires are worn and need replaced. The motor is a 1938 Ford flathead that came out of a restored car and is stock. I added the 42 distributor and it has a open drive 3 speed transmission. An S10 transmission could easily be adapted but I don't think it needs it.
The body is the front half of a 1926 T touring. The body is narrowed 8 inches at the back. There is still room for 2 big guys. The back of the body has been extended a couple of inches for plenty of leg room. See the bare metal pics. These were nice parts and any patches were metal finished. Grill is 1928 Studebaker that has been narrowed and shortened. Then one of the coolest parts is the custom made gas tank. It follows the back of the body.
Interior. ..well there isn't much there, t's made to look like a race car. Minimalistic! The inside is painted just as nice as the outside. There is no dash. A 32 ford speedometer is mounted in a custom column drop made from a 35 Ford column drop. There is a oil and temp gauge hidden up under the cowl. The seat is just a bottom. I like it that way. I could have a back made if the buyer wants one.
I can store the car till the Race of Gentleman if an international buyer would like to race it. I will do what I can to help with shipping but that is the buyers responsibility. There is a possibility of delivering it to Detroit Autorama or maybe central Florida. ....talk to me!
I'm selling the car to fish my 1934 Ford roadster. I don't really want any trades.....I would love to keep the car and race it in July and drive it this summer
Thanks for looking and Good Luck!
