Description for Ford Fairlane 1957
This car is awesome. You feel like Elvis or James Dean behind the wheel of this dreamboat. We are offering you one of the most sought after and collectible American Cars that the "Big 3" have ever produced. The Skyliner, which was also referred to as the "Hideaway" Hardtop, or having a retractable hardtop, was produced by Ford Motor Company for three years, 1957-1959. This Skyliner has the following Ford Options: 312 CI, 245 Horsepower, 4 barrel carburetor Thunderbird Special V8 Automatic transmission Master Guide Power Steering Power Brakes 4 way power seat Dual Exhaust Working Clock Converted AM/FM Radio The car is a decade old Frame On Restoration, done expertly by a trusted individual in the Central PA Area. The car started its life being owned by a member of the US Military in California. The car was then moved to Mississippi in the 80's by the same family as the original owner. The car was brought to PA in the early 2000's, and was purchased by the third, and current, owner. Although on paper the current owner is listed as the third owner, this car was always in the possession of the original owner's family, prior to being purchased by the current owner. The mileage can't be determined accurately, due to the odometer being replaced. We do have the original Odometer, and we can calculate the miles since the new one was installed. There is no deception here, as we want to be as forthcoming about the vehicle as possible. From the pictures, and first hand inspection, it is easy to tell that this car has been well taken care of over the past 60 years. This car runs and drives like a dream. All options are known to be in operation, other than the driver's power seat. The seat moves up and down, but not back. You can hear the motor moving, so its probably a easy fix. The car is made to be driven and enjoyed. Anyone who knows these cars, knows that they are highly sought after, especially the 1957, as it was the first year of production. Car is for sale locally, so the sale may be removed if sold locally. The seller is downsizing, and that is the only reason for sale. This is a great condition classic car.
