Description for Ford Other Pickups 1926

1926 Model TT1-Ton C cab in solid red oakAuxiliary 3 speed Muncie transmission
Purchased from an antique auto museum in upsate NY, this custom oak cab was fabricated at the on-site facilities at the museum at the hands of the founder, along with his long time ‘right hand man’.
It is believed by two large collectors that this Model TT started life as a paddywagon for the state of Delaware. Given its superb running condition, it was determined that the vehicle should be made into an open passenger vehicle for parading instead of “paddy-wagoning.” This vehicle has been retrofitted with two popular options of its time—a water pump and an electric starter, and an atypical but very worthwhile option-a 3 speed muncie transmission. Fold out stairs are integrated into the rear deck to ease with passenger loading and unloading. The bench seat backs are nicely cushioned and upholstered, as is the cab’s bench seat/back.
This versatile and ruggedized version of the Model T takes you right back to the roots of the turn of the century technology. The driving experience cannot be compared to that of modern day cars, but is truly an enjoyment all its own. Vehicle consistently has won the "kids choice" award at every mixed car show it goes to, as they love the openness and simplicity of this iconic classic.
With new tires, a rebuilt carburetor, water pump and fresh antifreeze, this Model TT is ready for a day’s cruise, or even a parade--very predictable and well mannered truck for its age. Leave and enjoy it as-is, or convert it into a promotional vehicle--stake bed farmer's market, wrecker, tradesman's vehicle, etc.
Great promotional value. I get "thumbs up" constantly, even from non-"car people", even when towing. No exaggeration, this car turns heads more than a Ferrari (just think how much more time they get to look at you in this!). This vehicle is currently registered in the great state of CT, where like a growing number of states in the US, any vehicle 20 model years or older, does not issue a title. The bill of sale on the back of the current registration certificate serves as the primary ownership document (and they insist you keep this in the vehicle at all times, so I keep a one sided black and white photocopy in the car).
This vehicle is being advertised locally, so the seller reserves the rights to decline the offer if sold locally first. That said, this is a no reserve auction, so unless sold locally, the HIGHEST BIDDER WINS. $250 relist fee will be charged to you if you do not have the funds (or permission) to complete this transaction as you indicated when you placed your bid.
GOOD NEWS: I will deliver this vehicle to you within 100 miles of 06470. Otherwise buyer arranges and pays delivery charges.
Model T Background:The car that moved the world was the Model T. The Model T finally enabled the automobile to be accessible by the masses, and this time, they bought. Featured here is its beefier rear axled cousin. First produced in 1917, the Model TT was sold as a chassis-only, with an upfitter supplying a body (or the owner building one!).
The Model T was designed by Childe Harold Wills, and Hungarian immigrants Joseph A. Galamb and Eugene Farkas. Henry Love, C.J. Smith, Gus Degner and Peter E. Martin were also part of the team. Production of the Model T began in the third quarter of 1908.The first Model T's were marketed as 1909 models.
