Running across a steel classic means the car actually rolled down the assembly line and has survived all of the years since it was built. It shows the originality of the car and as far as resale goes steel body cars continue to top the list over any reproduction fiberglass body made. The 1940 Ford Sedan you see here is one of those steel bodies which is in amazing shape especially factoring in its over 70 year age! It is very straight and the fit and finish is top notch. The car has a unique look from other 40 Fords cruising the street in that it is done in an old school style that will transport every old hot rodder back to the 50s. That in combination with modern hot rod components makes for a great driver that turns heads wherever it goes. It is the type of traditional hotrod that demands respect from anyone who knows hotrods while still providing the luxuries needed by a novice driver. It is coated in a bright Yellow paint that has a great shine with Orange pinstriping on the rear deck lid. The appearance of the bright paint with the dark tinted windows is a great look that looks extremely tough rolling down the road. All of the original style trim and bumpers are in place and are all in great condition. The stainless is straight and is all mounted correctly. The exterior electrical all works properly and LED lights are in place in the rear. Continuing with the throw back nostalgic look the car has been slightly lowered and runs around on Black steel wheels with brand new Diamond Back wide white wall tires. The chrome spinner wheel centers and beauty rings add to the wheels nicely and tie in a little extra chrome. Tell somebody there is a 350 V8 motor under the hood and you may catch some interesting looks when you go to show it off. In an effort to replicate that 50s style the reliable 350 motor has been entirely transformed to resemble an Oldsmobile Rocket motor. All of the components are cleanly painted a dark green with the correct style wire looms and Rocket lettering on the valve covers. The old school Cadillac air cleaner is painted a two tone Red and Flat Black and was then accented with custom Red/Yellow pinstriping. The engine was very nicely done and runs well. It is backed by a 700R automatic transmission with overdrive that shifts smoothly with zero issues. When we said modern hot rod components we didnt just be a modified 350 motor. The entire suspension system was redone with a Mustang II style system up front with Tubular A frame. In the rear is a Corvette independent suspension and together they deliver a nice smooth ride. Other very nice features include the power steering and power disc brakes. As you can see. it may look like the old hot rods but drives a lot nicer! The interior of the car is completed in Black leather that is in very good condition. The bucket seats are very comfortable and and are all adjustable using power switches mounted to the base. The dash has an all original appearance except for the white faced VDO gauges and LED turn indicators. The air conditioning system blows cold and utilizes vents which are inset into each side of the dash. Other custom interior upgrades include the very cool power window system which works using the original window cranks. Push forward the crank and the window raises up with no issues. The trunk is finished out well and adds some extra storage space while housing the AM/FM/CD player. Every where the car goes it gets a ton of attention. It is a joy to drive and will give even your daily driver some competition in regards to ease and comfort. Not many cars are built with this style and of those very few reach this quality.
