Description for Ford Roadster 1932

Get “the look” with this freshly built 1932 Ford Roadster. The aggressive stance; laid-back, curved windshield, and traditional colors provide an attitude that makes this car look like it is going 100 mph sitting still (or ready for a trip down the salt flats)!

Chassis

  • American Stamping Corporation rails with tubular cross-member and removal transmission mount

  • Chrome Pete & Jakes I-Beam axle with custom 1940 Ford style drum brakes that utilize all modern, readily available components (12” x 2” brake shoe)

  • Chrome Pete & Jakes hairpins

  • Chrome Pete & Jakes front leaf spring

  • 9” Ford differential with stock drum brakes disguised behind custom-machined Buick finned aluminum brake drum covers (you get the look of finned aluminum brakes with the reliability and ease of maintenance of Ford drum brakes)

  • Four-link rear suspension with coil-over shocks

  • 16” wire spoke front wheels wrapped in Coker Excelsior rubber

  • 18” wire spoke rear wheels wrapped in Lester rubber

Body

  • Kilbourne Rod Shop fiberglass body

    • These bodies are built around a tubular steel frame work – the most steel inner support as any body I have seen on the market

    • Doors and trunk fit well and both open/close with ease

    • Steel cowl vent for aesthetics, but is not operational

  • Curved, laid-back windshield – compare how this windshield looks to a stock windshield!

    • Aluminum windshield stanchions hand cast in Louisville, KY

    • Acrylic curved “glass” manufactured by Shields in Martinsville, IN

      • This is a formed piece of acrylic with a patented coating applied to both sides that is extremely scratch resistant. This coating repels fog and rain.

      • This is the same material used for the windshields on Top Fuel Dragsters, hydroplanes, streamliners, etc.

  • Steel grill shell with hand- built grill insert

  • Steel hood

  • TANKS brand gas tank with Stewart-Warner sending unit

Interior

  • Stewart-Warner electric gauge cluster with back lights (5 gauges: water temp, oil pressure, fuel, volts, speedometer)

  • Customer fabricated steering column with urethane bushings

  • Traditional style steering wheel wrapped in black friction tape

  • Lokar shifter and shifter boot

  • Black simulated leather panels (door, kick panels, trunk, behind seat)

  • Black short-nap automotive carpet in the cockpit and it the trunk

  • Black simulated leather bench seat

Engine and Transmission

  • 283 cubic inch Chevy Small Block with Powerglide transmission

    • Extremely nice engine that fires right up the first time

    • Idles great as soon as it starts

    • Runs 190 – 195 degrees all day

    • HEI ignition (the small distributor)

    • Cal-Custom finned aluminum valve covers

    • Traditional ram horn exhaust manifolds into exhaust that has been wrapped in heat tape for a traditional look

    • Aluminum radiator (painted satin black)
