1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe total stock high dollar restoration with just enough largely hidden functionality built in to allow safe, reliable, road worthiness at modern speeds. For example, Hotronics self canceling turn signals are built into existing headlights and tail lights. Facet #4 electric fuel pump blowing thru the stock pump. Starts instantly hot or cold. Pertronix Ignitor ignition in 1946 - 48 2-bolt crab head distributor. All stock style wiring. Power Gen 72 Amp alternator that looks like a generator. Everything converted to 12 Volt. Lap Seat belts.
Upgraded cooling system allows car to run at 160 degrees all of the time. New Bob Drake exact reproduction Brass Radiator. BD Hi-Volume water pumps. Skip Haney#2 one way pressure valve on overflow tube. HRE 18" puller fan and shroud mounted to radiator. HRE coolant recovery / recirculating system hidden inside fender valence. NOS 155 Degree barrel thermostats safety wired to cylinder head outlets. Stewart Warner mechanical temperature gauge inside glove box. Recalibrated gauges and speedo by HRE.
Transmission needed synchros, so installed mostly NOS Van Pelt complete transmission ($2,300). Steering box completely rebuilt including worm and sector by Lars Corporation ($800). New tie rods and alignment. New Diamondback Tires Auburns 6.50 -16 whitewall radials ($2,300). Tracks beautifully.
Columbia 2-speed rear end by Dan Greibel, with original operating and speed changing controls. Engine also by Dan Greibel. Fenton cast iron Headers with Mellowtone Mufflers. Engine and restoration have about 1,800 miles. Everything else 100 miles new.
Beautiful stock Maroon paint with lots of factory options such as Bumper Guards, Bumper Wings, Correct Ford Fog Lights. Exceptional panel and trim fit. Correct Mohair interior, correct knobs and gauges, with no visible add-ons. Deluxe Ford two piece beauty rings plus stock 1940 caps.
