This truck just completed an extensive refurbishment less than a year ago, and over $15,000 in documented receipts show the extent of the complete mechanical upgrades and modifications it received. Originally built in 2007, the truck amassed about 7,000 miles before the owner decided he wanted to make the truck worthy of an epic Route 66 run he had been dreaming about. So in 2015, the truck was torn down, and over a year was spent completely transforming the mechanical and functional aspects of the truck to a level that matched the beautiful paint and body. An old 350ci CI V8 was scrapped in favor of a fresh, block-up build on a Corvette 327ci motor with an estimated 375hp! The motor was purpose built to be long-haul capable, and performance mods were kept to a minimum in the interest of fuel economy, reliability, and ease of maintenance. It was dressed in black valve covers with polished fins, chrome air cleaner, polished block-hugger performance headers, MOON breathers, and all the new goodies an engine needs like water pump, alternator, starter, performance plugs, new hoses, new lines, and more. An entire new Air Conditioning system was installed and is R134a throughout, and it blows so crazy cold on setting ONE that I haven't needed to run it any higher even in our hellish Florida summer! Fan setting THREE is enough to freeze meat I bet! A polished hi-flow aluminum radiator was sourced for the truck, and it keeps operating temps between 180 and 188 at ALL times. A 16" Flex-A-Lite fan and shroud, DELCO Thermostat, and DELCO fan control relay work perfectly, and I have never seen it go over 188, even when driving this truck on a 200 mile round trip. Everything under the hood was essentially pulled and replaced in 2015/2016, including the complete Power Brake system from the booster to the Disc, transmission cooler, LOKAR throttle cable, new fuel lines, new fuel pump, and more! The original FORD straight axle front end was scrapped in favor of a BRAND NEW Heidt's MUSTANG II power steering rack, with lowered coiled springs and shocks, hub upgrade for 5x5.5 wheels, dropped disc brake spindles, tubular A-arms, rack extenders, and a new steering shaft from the tilt column to the rack. Power steering pump, hoses, adaptors, and fittings all got an upgrade, and everything works perfectly, and has been proven reliable on a cross-country trip! Out back, brakes were redone with new drums, shoes, lines, and hardware, and the rear got performance shocks with a flip kit to keep it low and level with the front. The rear end got a set of new 3.55 gears which let it cruise at 75mph all day long without overworking the motor. A custom exhaust was fabricated for the truck integrating a set of MAGNAFLOW Mufflers which give the truck a really mellow rumble at idle, a nice bite under throttle, and keep things from being too noisy in the cab on long trips. The trucks electrical got redone from headlights to tail lights with a new fuse block, 10 and 14 gauge wire as needed, new connectors, clamps, ties, and more. A dual-note horn was installed for the planned trip, and everything still works as it should. Essentially, a documented $15,000 and change was spent on making this truck as mechanically reliable, modern, and easy to service as it could be before setting off on a 8,000 mile trip across the USA! The trucks chassis and power train were brought up to the level of the rest of the truck, which still shows clean, neat, and ready for a car show RIGHT NOW! The GREEN ENVY finish on the exterior of the truck is still shiny, glossy, and vibrant, and shows only the normal little scuffs, stone chip, and other small blemishes you would expect on any vehicle driven over 10,000 miles. Take a look through the 100 EXTRA-LARGE and detailed photos below, and you will see that it looks good from every angle, and none of the blemishes are even big enough to really show in photos. I just want you to know they are present, so you aren't expecting a showroom new finish. Gold pin stripes set of the exterior around the front and rear fender well openings, the hood, and the gold FORD lettering on the tail gate. The body is ALL STEEL, and there are NO fiberglass components on the truck. Hood, Cab, Bed, Front and Rear Fenders, and the Running boards are ALL STEEL! Tail gate is fully functional, and the chains are wrapped in rubber for safety and protection. Tail lights are fit with FORD script emblems and BLUE DOT centers, and look and work perfectly. New headlights were installed with new trim rings when the wiring was redone, and they work as they should in both HIGH and LOW beam positions. Chrome grill and hood side trim all look beautiful, and the hood centers and front and rear bumpers show wonderfully too, but do have light patina evident in spots that keeps them from being "like-new". Steel wheels were painted to match, and treated to new polished trim rings and center caps the "F" FORD letter highlighted in black. They are wrapped in DOUGLAS Xtra-TRAC radial tires size P235/75R15 all the way around with about 70% of the USEABLE tread life remaining, and no damage. Door handles, mirrors, wiper arms, and side step plates are in great condition, but do show light signs of use. Inner bed walls are clean, shiny, and glossy, and the bed wood was weather treated and sealed so it still looks fantastic even with 10,000 miles under its belt! All the stainless straps and hardware look fantastic, and the chrome aircraft style fuel inlet works perfectly and comes with an ABS opener. The glass on the truck is in exceptional condition except for the passenger side vent window, which has a 1.75" crack in down by the handle that the previous owner said has been on the truck since 2009. All the weather stripping, seals, and gaskets on the truck are in great condition, and are soft and pliable. Open the doors, and you see a clean, neat, and purposeful interior that was designed for long-haul comfort and cleanliness. All painted parts of the inner cab match the exterior in both color and finish out. A new gauge cluster was installed with new AutoMeter gauges for WATER TEMP, OIL PRESSURE, VOLTS, and FUEL LEVEL installed and calibrated, alongside a new Stewart Warner Speedometer which is GPS accurate within 1 mph, and shows just 10,350 miles since the refresh was done in 2015/2016. The gauge surround is wrapped in black leather that matches the center stack trim on the dash surrounding the stereo. No Route 66 trip would be complete without some tunes, and the prior owners made sure they things covered with a PIONEER AM/FM/CD/iPod/USB/Spotify/Pandora capable head unit pushing the music out of two marine box speakers behind the seats and hidden front speakers. My Johnny Cash CD sounded great, and it was nice having something that could charge my iPhone on the road without clogging up a power port. A chrome tilt steering column works and looks great, and is fit with chrome tilt lever and chrome turn signal arms before being topped by a gorgeous GRAN T GT wood-rimmed 3 spoke wheel. LOKAR provided the 23" aluminum shift lever that looks great and performs perfectly. OLD AIR provided the under dash A/C control panel and vent unit, and it works so good I doubt you'll EVER use it on setting three! It is COLD, COLD, COLD! The unit looks great too, and lends a retro flavor to the interior. Ashtray still opens like it should, as does the glovebox with lining. Original start button is still intact, but is not functional. Headlamp switch works like it should, as does the windshield wiper switch. 3-positiion key switch in the dash works like it should, and is easy to access. Door panels are wrapped in matching black leatherette, and have original door handles and window rollers that work great! Headliner also is matching black leatherette, as are the twin sun visors. Carpeting is fresh and clean from the firewall to the rear window, and it was installed over a layer of sound and heat proofing too. Matching floor mats work great, and are still in good condition, and the carpet is banded on the edges and held down with vintage sill plates on the sides. Seats are in light tan leather to match the kick panels, and the driver side has full power adjustability, while both seats have manual fore and aft and recline functionality. There are full lap belts in place for each seat, and the higher seat back height allows a bit more safety for rear end collisions. The relocated fuel tank allows for a pretty good amount of storage behind the seats, and the speakers were installed to be easily movable should they need located elsewhere to make room for luggage. This truck left Florida and went to Chicago without issue. It then went from Chicago to Los Angeles, CA on Route 66, before turning back and crossing the lower USA to get back to Florida. It has been driven locally since then, and I have personally put over 500 miles on the truck, including one 200 mile round-trip. I would not hesitate to jump into the truck and drive it anywhere. The truck comes with one ignition key, and receipts totaling just over $15,000 for the major upgrades finished in 2016. It has a free and clear FLORIDA TITLE. It starts, idles, and performs beautifully. Snick the TH400 transmission into gear, and the truck is ready to roll. IT will hang with modern cars in traffic, and has plenty of power to merge onto the interstate, climb a grade, or just do a rowdy burn-out. On the freeway at 70, you can drive with one hand on the wheel and feel confident. Braking is smooth and sure, and truck scrubs off speed without any wander, fade, or pulling. It tracks straight as an arrow, and has no odd wobbles or wander. If you are looking for an easy to maintain, ultra-clean, well-built, and PROVEN RELIABLE machine for YOUR route 66 trip, or just to use on an occasional Sunday, this is the right truck for you. ***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH WORLDWIDE VEHICLE SHIPPING - CALL ME! ***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH QUICK AND EASY FINANCING - CALL ME! ***IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE IN EXPORTING THIS VEHICLE OVERSEAS - CALL ME!
