For sale is my cherished 57. It is a very nice 1957 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan 2 door. I have owned this since 2004. Rides well and stops well with front disc brakes. Under the hood is a very strong 428 Cobra Jet engine bored to 434 cubic inches (.030 bored). Built the engine myself. Never dyno tested this engine but it is an improvement in power over my old 439 cobra jet. I estimate this engine is 500-525 horsepower and similar numbers in torque perhaps a bit more 525-550 torque. The engine still has good street manners. I never raced it only drove it on the streets and a few times up to Ocean City hot rod weekends. I would not consider this a show car although I entered into many car shows for fun. With a little work, and time that I no longer have to play around, this would make a nice show car. It is mechanically sound and looks pretty decent. I have put less than 10,000 miles on this car. The engine has about 4000 miles on the rebuild. The transmission about 5000 miles since installed new. The complete rear end, axles, and housing, have about 3500 miles since installation. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Body/frame-restoration in 1998. Grey prime coat, two coats medium red metallic (Burgundy) from Napa with clear coat. There are some minor flaws which are only noticed if you are looking for flaws. One spot of what I believe to be body filler that bulged in lower rocker panel just in front of the driver rear wheel. It cracked the paint approximately 3/4 of an inch and bulged a little. It is hardly noticeable unless you look for it. Looks to be an easy repair for someone with the skills to do body work. I have noticed no other body filler on the car but I am no auto body expert. No rust anywhere that I can see. Has been garage kept since I owned it and by the previous owner. No dents, no scratches. All chrome is good. A couple of rock chips in the front. Dummy chrome spot lights mounted. Peep mirrors on upper door. Chrome side pipes mounted are no longer connected to exhaust. Decorative items only. Spare tire and jack in trunk. Trunk redone in gray vinyl and carpet. All windows and doors work. The lock mechanism on both doors quit working. They both used to work so I believe this is a simple repair. Wind wings work. No cracks in the glass. Seat belts installed. Original radio does not work. Alpine stereo/CD installed on tranny hump in gray vinyl enclosure. Electric antenna. MB Quart 6 x 9 coaxial rear speakers Heater motor works but heater core is not connected. Wipers, low beam, high beam, turn signal, horn, brake lights, all work. Gas gage works but full registers just over half tank. Clock installed but not connected. Cigarette lighter does not work. Original speedometer not connected but works with a cable. After market speedometer stopped working. Needs to be rewired. Auto meter tachometer works. Upholstery redone in 1999 as well as headliner. Not show car quality but very decent. Installed new carpet on the floor in 2012 . Driver floor mat slightly worn. Others good. I had a small hole professionally repaired on driver side seat. Not noticeable. Interior is burgundy with gray vinyl piping and trim. Lower door is carpet. Headlights upgraded to halogen. Dash and interior metal repainted burgundy. Dash bezels are in decent condition. After market steering wheel. Parking brake works but stuck on me one time. Interior hood latch pull works.New heavy duty front stabilizer bar. Cragar SS 15 inch rims. 215/65/15 Bridgestone tires up front and 225/60/15 rear. Front disc brake conversion with dual master cylinder. Rear drum brakes. Chrome plated radiator support. Heater motor cover is chrome plated. All hood latches are chrome plated.
