This car is a real "head turner". WARNING - Driving this car, being a Manual Shifted Car, you'llspend quite a bit of time withonly 1 hand on the steering wheel. You'll need a, "thumbs-up" or "head nodder" device for all of the attention, recognition and acknowledgement both you and this car will receive. Otherwise you'll appear just plain RUDE!

Did I mention, "This car is a real head turner"?

This is a very unique car for several reasons:
1 - It is a non-GT, non-Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet Mustang (Marti Report Documented)
2 - It is Fully and Beautifully Restored - absolutely beautifully restored.
3 - It is a special order, purpose built Street Fighter - Straight line, Stoplight Action.
- 428 Cobra Jet Engine
- 4-Speed Close Ratio Transmission
- Bare Necessities - Drum (Power) Brakes, Manual Steering, Tach Dash, No Console
- Competition Suspension

This is a 1969 Mustang Base. It is Silver Jade in color, and has a 428 Cobra Jet Engine, a 4-Speed Toploader Manual Transmission and currently has as 3.50:1 (3.25:1 Originally) Gear Ratio Currie 9-Inch Rear End. This car does not have the original drive train; however, it does have a correct drive train. It is not restored to original; it is a very tasteful restoration/modification (RestoMod). The mods are of vintage type; mods that could have/would have been done in the 70's.

The RestoMod has approximately 500-600 Miles on it. The previous owner provided a lot of records and receipts, and it appears the restoration took place in 2005-2006. I have owner receipts dated back to the late 90's. The car seems to have been a show car and garage queen since its restoration.

Modifications (non back to original restoration items):
- MSD Ignition System
- 1970 Hurst Competition Plus Shifter
- Frame Rail Connectors
- Currie 9-Inch Rear End
- Koni Shocks
- TractionMaster Traction Bars (Carroll Shelby used TM Bars as early as 1965)
- 15" Magnum 500 Wheels (14" Originally)
- Comp Cams 270H Camshaft
- Magnaflow Mufflers; Dual Exhaust
- CenterForce Clutch, Pressur Plate and Throw out Bearing

What I have done to this car:

  • When I received the car it had a 1961 Starliner Aluminum Intake Manifold. I installed a correct cast iron 428 Cobra Jet Intake Manifold.
  • The shock plates are aftermarket shock plates with integrated mounting brackets forthe TractionMaster Traction Bars. Ibought a second set of TractionMaster ShockPlates, and from the set I bought I used the right-side shock plate and installed it backwards on the left-side to reinstall the staggered shock setup.
  • I installed the proper PCV System with the Cobra Jet Intake Manifold
  • The Ram Air System was left open and non-functional. I added the flapper and vacuum module. I completed and assembled the Ram Air System so it would function as designed.
  • One problem with this car when I received it in it's RestoModded condition is ithad a C5TA bellhousing and a big block 4-Speed Toploader. That is a problem! The C5TA bellhousing is 5/8" deeper than a big block car bellhousing. One trick is to use a Toploader from a small block vehicle as the input shaft is 5/8" longer; however all small block transmissions are small input shaft/small 28-spline output shaft design. As I mentioned, the 4-Speed Toploader installed was a big block, RUG-J2, transmission, which decodes to a 1969 390 Torino wide gear ratio, 1-1/16" Input Shaft, 28-Spline Output Shaft. The transmission input shaft could not reach the pilot bushing in the aft of the crank shaft - it vibrated violently, only in reverse- but not anymore!

I spent $3500.00. I obtained the correct, bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. I also bought the correct
31-spline slip yoke and the correct RUG-AE2 4-Speed Toploader Transmission for a 1969 428 Cobra JetMustang -
1-3/8"Input Shaft, 31-Spline Output Shaft, Close Gear Ratio Transmission. I also made sure to install thecorrect Clutch
Release Fork, Z-Bar, upper and lower clutch releaserods. Everything works perfectly!

Condition:
Paint - Excellent, (Absolutely Beautiful)
Chrome - New or Very, Very Good (each piece)
Carpet - New
Glass - Excellent
Interior - Excellent
Under carriage - Excellent
Body - Excellent - (No Rust, Either New Metal or Original brought to bare during restoration, resealed, primed and painted).

Paint & Body Professionals, Enthusiasts and Spectators alike have commented on the Paint, Lines, Gaps and panels - everyone is in awe at the quality of the work. The previous owner says he coated the seams in the trunk with bee's wax - expensive, but nothing better?
