Description for Ford Mustang 1965
If you would like to spend your summer sporting around in a convertible, then you will want to check out this ultra-desirable, sweet looking, '65 Mustang. It has been fully restored, with some first-class upgrades that stayed focused on the best features that the factory had offered along the way.
Even from a distance, you can see that the color combination of this car is stunning. The Burgundy Red Metallic paint is highlighted perfectly with a Tan GT stripe along the rocker, and with a matching Tan roof. And a Mustang is one of those convertibles that looks great with the roof either up or down. This roof fits nice and taught, and is power operated, so you can drop it, or pop it back up, at the touch of a button. There was considerable time and money spent to get this body ready for paint, and to apply it properly. The body lines and gaps are tight and right, and the paint has a shine that is miles deep. Leading the way up front, you will notice the GT style fog light grill framed by Ford script on the hood above it, and the shine of a pencil thin bumper below. At the back of the car are the iconic Mustang taillights, along with chrome dual exhaust tips exiting the lower valence.
Quality workmanship and tasteful upgrades continue inside this car too. Open the door and you are greeted by a dark tan door panel with a molded armrest and pleated insert, all outlined nicely with chrome. The Pony interior treatment with the inserts in the seats, and both horizontal and vertical pleating is super sweet. Of-course there is a matching tan boot to cover the roof when it is down adding a touch of class. The dash is perfectly accented with wood surrounding the gauges and also for the glove box, and they are both dressed out with delicate chrome piping. There is also a wooden 3-spoke steering wheel with a Mustang horn button, and wood treatment on the console too. That console is where you will find the white Hurst shift knob for the manual trans in this car. Finishing out the fresh, clean look of the interior is nice carpeting and Mustang floormats to help protect them.
Sticking with the best of the factory offerings under the hood, you will find a 289 engine that runs strong and is dressed out nicely in stock clothing. It has a chrome air topper with checkered flags and a "289 High Performance" sticker. Air flows in through the 2-bbl carb, and stock intake, then out through the factory manifolds and a true dual exhaust system to those chrome exhaust tips. "Cobra, Ford" valve covers look great in black with brushed fins. The rest of the engine compartment has been nicely detailed out and is neat and clean. A 5-speed manual transmission lets you pick your gear for extra fun while driving around, and the suspension received its share of attention in this restoration too, so it is all tight and right. The rubber meets the road through 205/65R15 tires mounted on the styled steel Mustang wheels all around.
This is a sweet looking, strong running, '65 Mustang convertible, just waiting for you. Come on down, check it out, and start having some adventures with it.
