Description for Ford Mustang 1967
Cheap thrills...in a vintage Mustang? Hey, sometimes you get lucky! Beautiful burgundy on black, a torquey 289 under the hood, V8 rumble, cool wheels...this is a great car, and the perfect one for a first time buyer. Outside, the original code B Lime Frost Turquoise was mercifully wiped asunder for shades of Vintage Burgundy, and that's one of the best colors for Mustangs of any year. The body is straight but not too perfect, the paint isn't... so glossy you'll worry over it, and the car looks well loved. If you're wanting a car you could pound on every day of the week and not worry about armed guards watching over it at the grocery store, this is it. That big running horse in the grille announces your arrival in a way few cars can pull off. The bumpers are straight and shiny, the trim's nice for original stuff and the lenses are clean. It looks like most of the chrome has been refinished recently, and thanks to the massive aftermarket supporting the Mustang, new stuff is easy to find and shockingly affordable. You'll turn heads for sure. Inside, Ford got it right by putting in black buckets. The seat covers and carpet are obvious replacements, but the door panels, most of the trim and dash are probably original, and you can see that when it was repainted, nothing got overlooked. A fat three-spoke steering wheel feels great in your hands and includes a Mustang horn button, so most folks won't know it's not original equipment. Frills are low, in keeping with the coupe's mission, but you do get a center console, factory A/C (not working right now, but it's complete), and a decent-sounding AM/FM/CD stereo system. The bright silver dash trim is a welcome accent to the black upholstery. And coupes are great because they offer big trunk space, even with a full-sized spare living under the plaid cover. Under the hood you'll find a C-code 289 cubic inch V8, as original and quite likely this car's original engine. When it was pulled out of long-term storage, the engine was thoroughly serviced and tuned, but didn't need any major surgery and has that smooth, torquey feel that these engines made famous. A chrome air cleaner dresses things up a bit and there are plenty of new parts in the ignition system, so it lights off easily and idles smoothly right off the bat. Standard exhaust manifolds feed a nice-sounding dual exhaust system and you'll be pleased to find both power steering and power front disc brakes on this car, making it fantastic to drive. Backing up the 289 is a hearty C4 3-speed automatic transmission and the stock 8-inch rear is in place, holding highway friendly 3.00 gears. The floors are original but in good order and the only notable exterior upgrade are those handsome wheels, which look a lot like Torque Thrusts and carry 215/60/15 blackwall radials. A sharp Mustang in a great color, with good power under the hood, a clean interior and some nice wheels is always nice to have. One that's available for the price of a used Kia is even better.
