Description for Ford Model A 1930
1930 Ford Model A Coupe Traditional Hot Rod Project This is a professionally built early east coast style hot rod that is sure to grab attention at shows. rides. gas stations. wherever it maybe seen. Although it was built using early pictures and ideas as a guideline this wasn’t thrown together to be a rat rod or shock hot rod. All parts being used and the layout were chosen for not only the overall appearance but for everyday driving reliability if so chosen to. Keep in mind it is a project but has all of the right pieces and foundation to build a magazine worthy hot rod. Body The 1930 Coupe body itself is in near perfect condition. with no dents. dings. holes or rust through. The doors shut and align like it was just put together yesterday. The wood throughout the body is all brand new. All window garnishes are in just as great shape. Front windshield frame has all new needed hinges & connecting parts. Body was channeled depth of the frame (3”) and a custom solid built metal floor was added throughout. including the trunk. Doesn’t look extreme or take up much room in the cab. Once again drivability and comfort was taken into mind while building. Original cowl gas tank was planned on being used and is in good enough shape to. Seat bucket brackets made and ready for foam and covering. Chassis/Suspension Custom built tig welded 2x3 tubing using jigs to assure true measurements & straightness. Small details include the motor/steering mounts to appear to be riveted. Was built to keep true original Model A wheelbase for that “compact” “aggressive” look. Setup to accept 350SBC w/ Turbo 350 transmission (Doesn’t come w/ seen mock up block). Does however come with custom made lake style headers seen in pictures. Custom made early style rear radius rods with all included ends/connectors. New rear spring. 2 new front springs. all new spring shackles. new shocks Front/Rear. New tie rod. new draglink. Dropped front axle with split Model A wishbones with all new hardware. 1936 Ford front spindles already fixed to clear suspension and frame while driving. New complete front kingpin kit. Misc New headlights & headlight mounts. New Pontiac taillights mounted in rear. Brand new aluminum radiator for 350SBC setup to fit behind 1932 Ford grille shell. Cross-steering box setup for ease of use while driving. Custom Steering column w/ a custom column mount transmission shifter. (Once again done to maximize floor and leg room)Custom gas pedal and brake assembly using early ford mustang brake master cylinder. New door handles along with a bunch of misc. interior bolts/parts (all new kits). PROJECT Like I’ve already stated this is a project it is not roadworthy. yet. Take a good look at the pictures and ask questions. To curb some of the emails I’ll list some quick things. Brakes will need to be rebuilt all around. Rear- It is an early Ford 8” that will need to also be rebuilt. No I don’t have a rear decklid. When I originally purchased the body the plan was to buy a repop so it’d be as nice as the rest of the body. The firewall will need to be finished with a small amount of spot welding. No thank you. I’m not currently interested in trades. I have a new project to get on the road. As you may see in some of the pictures there is slight surface rust on the frame and the floor. It literally takes a minute to take off with sandpaper. it’s from sitting in a garage in FL humidity. not deep or through. In fact I’ll have most of it cleaned up upon purchase. I don’t have a title to the coupe but I have a historic one I’ll include with the Bill of Sale. Buyer is responsible for shipping although I’ll help load onto a trailer or car hauler.
