Description for Ford Thunderbird 1957
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this professionally restored 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. This immaculate muscle car comes in a stunning gray paint job complimented by a clean red interior and black convertible top. The convertible top is in exceptional condition and functions as it should. Powering the Thunderbird is a 347 cubic inch stroked V8 crate motor mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. From the manufacturer this massive motor produced a whopping 450 horsepower! Upgrades to the... 347 include aluminum heads, Holley sniper EFI system, Edelbrock aluminum intake, MSD ignition, Sanderson headers and more. Features of the vehicle include vintage A/C, 4 wheel power disc brakes, power windows, power steering, Heidts front suspension with pinion steering, QAL coil-overs and much much more. This vehicle was a ground up build completed recently by a locally well known restoration and performance shop. As such this stunning vehicle comes with full documentation. So, if you're in the market for an absolutely top tier vehicle, this stylish yet powerful Thunderbird is the vehicle for you. The Ford Thunderbird hit the market in 1955 in was a direct response to the Chevrolet Corvette. While the Corvette aimed to impress with performance, the T-bird was all about style and substance. Dubbed the first "personal car" by Ford, it was described as a direct descendant of the bespoke 1930s roadsters and was aimed as a brisk grand tourer. It was light for its era and the powerful V8 could propel it to around 120 mph. The 1955 model featured the proven 292cid Y-block V8 and had bumper mounted exhausts and a trunk-mounted spare tire.
