Description for Ford Other 1934

Love the looks of a '34 roadster, but perhaps looking for something a little more weather-friendly? How about this mean-looking 1934 Ford Cabriolet, which has the same awesome open-air vibe as the roadster, but with the protection of a folding top, roll-up windows, and windshield wipers that actually work. Better yet, it's been recently completed and comes powered by a 347 V8 crate motor with a lot of pop, and features all the creature comforts you look for in a high end streetrod. Take a closer look, this cabrio is a winner in every way.
There's nothing subtle about this slick black hotrod, but that's entirely the point. Sure, the body is fiberglass, but thanks to a terrific rendering from Innovative Street Machines the look is timeless, and everywhere you go, folks recognize the appeal of the 1934 Ford. From the pointed radiator shell and sweeping fenders to the raked-back windshield and smoothly tapered rear deck, there's something here that will appeal to everyone, and the fact that it's totally functional as a real car is something that most rods attempt, but not all achieve. Workmanship is quite good, and with fiberglass, it's easy to get great gaps and a solid feel, and with that shiny black paint job, the shape simply speaks for itself. It features stock-style suicide doors with shaved handles and hinges, a custom grille insert in the pointed grille shell that matches those on the engine bay's side panels, and 1939-style Ford taillights that have been smoothly integrated with the rear fenders. There's no pinstriping or any dated decals you'll be embarrassed about in 5 years, just miles deep black that adorns the sweeping fenders and running boards. Man, this is a great look droptop!
Elegant two-tone, high-grade vinyl convers the interior, further reinforcing this car's luxury-oriented personality. The buckets are from a late-model, and the rest of the interior was built around them. Door panels are simple, sophisticated affairs with matching gray vinyl and billet handles that brighten things up and offer some visual interest. Deep black paint covers the dash, which is full of gorgeous vintage-style gauges from Dolphin, and there's a leather-wrapped banjo style steering wheel on a tilt column that anchors the cabin. Vintage A/C, power windows, cruise control, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo give you the kind of comfort and convenience items that make any car a pleasure to drive, especially one with this cabrio's great looks. There's a tall shifter on the floor that's built into a custom case that actually displays the selected gears, along with a couple of cup holders just ahead of it. Weather protection is provided by a snug-fitting black top with a decent-sized rear window (no blind spots!) and the trunk is neatly finished and perfect for, say, the Hot Rod Power Tour.
Despite its great looks, this rod is no poser. The engine is a freshly built 347 cubic inch from Dominator Engines that's been Dyno'd at 359 horsepower (to the wheel) and is fitted with all kinds of upgrades. A chrome dress-up kit should look familiar to anyone who has ever driven a hi-po Ford before and it's entirely appropriate here. Polish valve covers and an open element air cleaner on the block look great against the slick black bodywork and the overall look is serious and functional rather than over-done. Block-hugging headers dump into a custom-built dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, so this sucker really cackles. The suspension is a Mustang II setup in front with power rack-and-pinion steering and front disc brakes, while a heavy-duty 10-bolt rear end out back hangs on a Mustang trailing arm setup. There's also a 3-speed automatic transmission in the middle that shifts smoothly, and with only 1,295 miles on the entire build, this beauty is just getting broken in. It nails the perfect stance with staggered chrome Boyd Coddington wheels wearing 225/45/17 front and 295/45/18 rear performance radials.
Go ahead and enjoy the open road, this '34 Ford has you covered; it's ready to rock and shows off immediately. Call today!
