Description for Ford Thunderbird (E-Bird) 1957
The Thunderbird by Ford certainly does not need an introduction. The first generation is one of those cars that even non-car people know what it is. The car was designed and produced in response to the new and popular Chevrolet Corvette that debuted in 1953. One small difference is that Corvette was marketed and sold as a Sports Car and Ford decided to go a different route, dubbing the T-Bird as a personal car with the emphasis on comfort and convenience with a sports car feel. Subtle design changes happened over the first three years with a couple different engine variants being offered but the most coveted performance birds were the "E" bird and "F" bird. The E coded 57 Thunderbird utilized the 312 Cubic Inch V8 but mated to that intake was a pair of 4-Barrel Holley Carbs pushing the horsepower to 270 with the help of a larger bore and stroke and stroke and also had increased compression. This is absolutely is one of the finest examples out there. The car is finished in Bronze over Bronze with white hard-top. The car was painstakingly restored by Robbins Restorations in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and since has received numerous awards including CTCI Concourse Gold Award, AACA Grand National 1st place, CTCI Gold Medalion, AACA National 1st place and more. The car has what is believed to be three owners with a copy of the first owners pink slip in CA. There were just under 1,500 "E" Code Birds produced so rare is an understatement. This car also comes with a full photo documentation as well as slides. This car speaks for itself as you could literally eat off any part of this car. Everything is new with only fifteen miles since restoration. You will be hard pressed to find anything like it for this money. This Bird also outscored some Amos Minter cars at some judged events. I have a few of the judging sheets if anyone would like to see them.
