1953 Ford F3 Flatbed Unrestored, Modified Running, Plenty of Character

Description for Ford Other Pickups 1953

Cab is clean and pretty much rust free Arizonia survior. Someone started to modify. body was left pretty much original. The flat head engine has been replaced with a Ford big block with dual short exhaust. tail pipes exit each side of cab. Makes a sweet sound. I was told engine is a 429 with C6 Automatic Transmission. Motor runs smoothly. cool. no smoke. and excellent oil pressure. Transmission shift clean. not use to reverse column shift. Power brakes are incredible. Too sensitive actually. No hand brake. Power steering makes truck easy to drive. New Tires all round. Head lights work. that's the extent of the lighting. Rest of wiring not connected. No rear tail lights. Original guages are not in operation. will need work. Accessary water temperature and oil pressure gauges work. Missing passenger and rear window glass. Has a Ford later model steering column and wheel. Fair share of body work has been done but still needs more. Around fuel fill cap not finished. Cab body. fenders. hood and floors are solid. Chassis is sound. only surface rust. Front suspenion has a mind all of it's own. Needs ball joints and maybe kingpins replacing. Have ball joints and steering ends. Most of the hard work has been done. I was going to build a vintage woodern flat bed body. Paint the cab green. Take her to local shows. Help out at Farmers Market and generally have alot of fun in a neat looking great sounding powerful engine vintage truck unfortunately my circumstances have changed.
