Up for sale! an Ultra rare 1918 Australian bodied RHD- RUNABOUT -QML- Queensland motors limited . Brisbane Australia . This 1918 QML Runabout is a unique and important part of Ford Motor Company history and a truly amazing part of Australian automotive history . Believed to be One of only a few still in existence today. The first "World Cars" Henry Ford produced were Ford Motor Company Canada Limited. right hand drive model Ts for export around the world . running. rolling 1918 chassis were transported by early steam ship half way around the world to Australia where the automotive industry was in its infancy. Australian automotive import company. Queensland Motors limited. built and fitted QML bodies. and made performance upgrades to Henry's export chassis. This 1918 QML Brisbane Runabout was exported to the USA in 1962 (back again across the globe by ship) where upon its arrival in the US went into storage in Detroit until its recent discovery. The 1918 Brisbane runabout is a virtual time capsule of Australian Automotive History the red paint with yellow pin striping is original from 1918 . as is the light gray roadster top. omplete with red piping. and still has its original Au. made Olympic" tyres". The runabout has a great patina and is well documented and has original Au. paper work and shipping documents. all numbers match. the date on the Canadian block reads 4-23-18. motor turns freely. no rot. nor rust. and is titled . The highest bidder will get the treasure trove of rare original spare QML parts that were packed in the runabout before it left Australia this includes the correct original . arlier wind shield frame and red cowl timber. note the last 2 pictures( the wind shield on the car is a later ausi made QML frame ) there is a very nice set of ausi. QML rear fenders and 1 spare front fender. and much. more . The runabout is just as it was when it left Australia . I believe this car should be conserved rather than restored and really belongs in a museum possibly as an Australian heritage piece with a great story behind it!
