Description for Honda Accord 1977

##### BEING RELISTED DUE TO BACK OUT.......PLEASE IF YOU HAVE TO CHECK WITH YOUR WIFE, OG, HORSE OR CAT FIRST OR AFTER YOU BID ACTUALLY.....SORRY TO YOU HONEST PEOPLE ###### I am pleased to present to you this very unique rare survivor ca, 977 honda accord cvcc hatchback, uto trans with super low miles at 73,383 !!! ... Here at Carter Customs we build and restore all kinds of cool customs and a little bit of everything and strive to bring you clean rare cars, his is a little off of the usual domestic classic....but i love all classics and found this beauty stored away in a garage for the past 26 plus years !!
First also, I want to tell you a little bit about myself to separate me from the latest rat rod truck craze, here everybody is just slapping rusty unsafe trucks together and getting "stupid" money for them. Truck's where nothing works, o turn signals, tc. I have been an industrial maintenance technician for my entire working life and so many of my skills such as welding, esigning, tc spill over from that professional background into my real passion- designing, uilding, nd restoring, ustom cars, rucks, nd motorcycles. I have built several of these trucks now and got them down to a science and building another as we speak for a customer and friend . You can view my trusting feedback where I have restored and sold upwards to 100 motorcycles and a few cars and trucks all over the country and even shipped to Japan. I think what separates me from others is in my attention to detail and a real passion for what I do. I treat every single job or build as if it were my own.
I have several classics of my own and starting buying these trucks a few years ago. I have been sick of seeing some of these backyard jobs out there, nd thought, am going to build a very cool, ne of a kind truck, here every single thing will work like it should and contain modern running gear and safety features that a vehicle should have. Not to mention, ne of a kind styling and a look that will be timeless. I compare this truck to those that you see on popular garage TV shows where they are getting 100K for them and their product is nothing more than this, ther than they can pull out thousands of dollars worth of shiny new bolt-on parts. Even though, have a ton of hours in this vehicle and a fair amount of money, wanted to build something awesome that the average guy could afford to drive and enjoy. I am a very humble, assionate, ar guy, ho really put a lot of engineering, hought, ime and money into this truck to make it stand out and be dependable and affordable.
So that's a little about me and my two cents, ow on to the vehicle for sale.... And my descriptions can get pretty in depth but thats how i like it so you know as much as possible in detail. This paragraph above i use when i list my custom built resto mod trucks with included picture, just reuse it to tell you a little about me. ....i have included a picture of the ones i have built you may seen before specializing in the the 47-54 first series chevys. I also always to include a live video walk around the vehicle and running with systems working as they should to set me apart as well to give you s much info as possible on your new investment.... thanks for looking and bidding...
I found this vintage Honda Accord after it has been in dry storage for the last 26 plus years explaining its amazing condition and low miles. Most of these cars are long gone due to these this metal bodies and such to save weight for good mpg. I would really like to how many survive ! i have not seen one in probably 26 years ! it was found after a house was sold and the car was left behind. The purchaser of the property, ot a car guy sold it me. They got everything for the car as she was found including the original title which is now clear Pa. title in my name. the only thing not found is the key to open doors. This is only the 2nd year Honda really broke into importing cars to the usa and only the 2nd year for this accord which was only made from 76-81. What is really cool being a american classic car guy that i am is the designer of this car was Soichiro Honda which owned a 1969 Firebird which had a huge impact on his design seen in the front end of these cars mostly.. pretty cool. He also designed the low emissions engine to break into the usa marke, he CVCC which stands for "Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion" this a unique combustion process which eliminates the use of catalytic converters and the computers and sensors we know of today, retty huge innovation for the day...The cvcc badges were only on these cars for like first 4 years but the technology remained. Pretty cool survivor. Another unique feature with the 1.6 liter power plant with around 70hp is this one is a little more rare again as it has a 2 speed manual "automatic " transmission called honda matic which was even used i some motorcycles i have seen over the years from honda. What this means is there is a auto clutch and you put the car in 1st gear and wind her up til about 30mp, hen bump into 2nd gear with no clutch and your done. back down to a stop or 30mpg or so the you pull back into first to start out. Pretty slick too and it works well. I joke saying its hondas copy of our ol powerglide known to be widely used in our classic cars here in usa, ut the difference is these used sliding gears in place of planetary gears that are used in most auto trans ... these were made from 73-79 til the 3 speed true auto came out. So it is a automatic that really isnt automatic...ha. These cars weighed in at only around 2000 lbs and were said to get around 32-45 mpg from what research i could find, retty amazing for a 1977 ! Ok well that was some history please see condition and details of reconditioning below. As with any car that has sat this long, ll systems need to be gone through and inspected and or replaced to be safe and reliable.

So this is why we went through a extensive what i would call " reconditioning" of this car and of course some restoration too but wanted to bring her back with every system mechanically and such so the car could be driven and enjoyed as is, nd original as possible. To just drive as is and enjoy, here has to be someone out there who had one of these and wanted another, ere it is a rare find, o not miss it. We have brought her back to life in a great running drivin, topping state that one could enjoy as is and take to local cruises, ar shows and or just added to a collection. There will not be another there like it at your local car show... !!
There is a lot of new parts on this car, ome were not easy to find and a lot of time and money went into to get it here, ut we are die hard car guys who have a love and passion for classics and not out to get rich, ust make a few dimes on it for our labor and have someone else enjoy. This car has oem paint which i waxed, ooks good from 20 feet away but has its share of minor scratches, cuffs some stains on hood and very small dings here and there, o major dents or major rust, few bubbles in paint at each corner of windshield. rockers have some minor surface rust as well, nd there is a valance on front and back under bumpers the front one has minor rus, o holes and the rear one has a little rust and dent and rust hole in one corner, ou have to really bend down to see and overall still very minor to me... bottoms of doors are perfect. Has less rust than most 2010 cars on the road today !! Chrome is awesome. So please read details below on condition and new parts.
Chassis:
Sub Frame cleaned up, erfectly rust free, ust surface stuff then painted satin blac, painted entire suspension parts and wheel wells etc. Floors look perfect with oem coating on them, o rust at all !
Entire brake system rebuilt with new parts....New wheel cylinders,2 new calipers, ll new pad, front and rear
New rubber brake lines and master cylinder
steering works fin, o power steering, teers easy though.
wheels/tires:
wheels were repainted with rally wheel paint, ust has some surface rust, ires have great tread and hold air fine but do have flat spots from sitting which you do feel going down road, ome tires with time will come back but cant say fo, o i would say you may need new tires for a nice smooth ride. They will be cheap 13"
Chrome/Trim/glass
All the chrome on this car is in awesome shape, o rust really at all to mention and has cool bumper gaurds and roof rack, ack even has original sticker on it as well as under hood has all the factory stickers in tact. All the trim around the windows and such looks awesome as well as glass is super clear with the front windshield has some minor scuffs from wiper but again super minor.
Body
Entire body of car is 95 percent solid as mentioned with a few minor rust spots mentioned above. Overall super nice body for a 38 year old car and im sure alot better than most of them left out there.. All of the lights included parking etc lenses are in excellent shape and bright. a few flaws in plastic bumper corners and minor scuffs. All weatherstripping in great shape, rim around windows awesome. windows roll up and down nice, atch popper beside seat works as it should and gas shocks even still working to hold hatch up.
Interior
..
Original seats was kept as found, ad some tears where you sit, n drivers seat and has darker color strip on outside looks like same area maybe fixed before. the rear seat looks like new as well as interior vinyl parts except a few small cracks in center of dash vinyl, ould be repaired real easy. carpet is nice overall other than hatch area it is wore some, as original full size spare tire and jack which look like they were never touched. Headliner is white yet and pretty much looks perfect !
all original gauges, ith all the vital, ll work like they should and dash lights work along with turn signals, rake lights etc, igh low beams even has on board light check button to test brake lights etc, hat works ...and get this even the old school clock in center of dash ticks away like it should. door open warning light works as it should. The only thing that may or may not work is the fuel gauge, dont put much gas in cars today as it is junk when they sit a little o it only has like 2 gal, aybe not enough to come up. has hand choke which you need for cold starts and light shows up on dash to let you know it is pulled, lot of neat features again for the year, nterior light works as it should as well as one in hatch area. It also posses the original owners manual !!!! Front and rear wipers work as they should as well as radio and heater blower etc. Awesome.
Engine/Drive train,etc
original 1.6 liter cvcc 4 cylinder engine runs real strong, think the little car gets up to speed pretty nice ! The 2 speed semi-auto tranny works as it should. Is cold blooded as most 70's carbureted engines. pull choke on a few pumps of gas pedal and she fires right up. Will smoke a little at start up sometimes which i think is normal from choek, t goes right away after warm and i put a bunch of fuel system cleaners in it too to help flush carb. Does have small flat spot around 2,000 rpm which i think will get better with time or may need carb cleaning. It ran so good after i did all tune up items and such i couldnt justify tearing carb down until it has more miles on it cause it is really good and i feel will get better. Once warm if you just ase into throttle it pulls strong all the way thru rmp range, ts just if you would try to mash throttle it stutters some around 2k then picks right up is best way to describe. I ran it for a few miles to operating temps and electric fan kicks on as it should and runs nice and cool. I drained fuel tank, eplaced the following with new parts... New holley electric fuel pump, yes they were electric from factory) new fuel filter, ack flushed fuel lines, ew rubber sections of fuel line. new cap rotor, lugs and wires, oints, ondenser and coil all new. wipers all new. Changed oil and filter, hanged trans oil. New air filter, ew intake hose, nd new battery. I have not seen any major leaks at all in all system, small drip from oil pan gasket here and there but again very minor and would be easy to change if you want, got a new fel pro gasket already too which will be included. Muffler has some rust holes in it but not noisy, he rest of exhaust is solid. I did a lot to this ol girl to bring her back to life to be enjoyed for years to come, ut i need to get back on customers cars.
In summation this car is a one of a kind car that turns a lot of heads and will bring MANY years of enjoyment, specially a honda with only 73k miles !! barely broke in....while remaining in retro style, or many years to come, ith so many rare options it is also a very good investment. Our reserve is very fair on this car, gain just want to recoup money spent on parts and a little for labor, encourage you to check out all pics and video and try to find anymore in this condition with a clear title which you can also put antique tags on it which means cheap insurance !
Please i alway, lways have people ask how much to end auction etc on my trucks etc and i always say i am open to offers and NEVER hear back from 99.9 percent . This is not a gam, ts my lively hood so if you are serious about an offer as i reserve the right to sell local as well, lease when you message me include a offer number to save us all time and we can go from there, orst i can say is n, est is yes or counter, o harm....
