Description for Honda Accord 1981

You can drive this car or take it to shows! Completely current on maintenance. She gets LOTS of attention wherever she goes. Kids always want to know what it is andeveryone elsejust wants to know the story of how she has survived so well.

42,000 documented miles!

Originallypurchased by an elderly couple in Hayward California. SHOW condition! You don't need to take this car to the next level, t's already there. Was in California until 2014.

ALL maintenance records, ork shop and owners manuals included with sale. Dealer invoice for the dealer options is included in the maintenance records.
Car has a 3 speed automatic with several rare options:
Dealer installed Air Conditioning, lows ice cold
Dealer installed Right side mirror, oth mirrors have remote controls
Dealer installed Electric antenna
Dealer installed Side molding and Door guards

Other equipment includes Power Steering and Power Brakes.
VERY original car, riginal paint, riginal stereo, riginal interior, riginal fabric air intake hose!!....Original paint in excellent condition, out of 10. (Right front fender was repainted at some point, t was poorly done so I had it repainted recently. I've included many pictures so you can see how good the color match is.)

Original interior is spotless, o tears or stains! At least a 9 out of 10.

Seals and rubber are all still soft and pliable.

Original CAD plating on bolts is still gold!

The only blemishes are some chromeflaking from front bumper and some splits in the front bumper corner rubbers (please see photos). I don't know why the chrome flaked from the front bumper as the rest of the chrome (including the rear bumper) is a 10 out of 10!

Car is garaged and I know the previous owner garaged it too.
Recent maintenance: (This maintenance was PREVENTATIVE,car has and does run great, include comments since some have questioned me as to why so much was done.)
Replaced all belts including timing belt and tensioner (A 35 year old timing belt is not a good idea, 'm not willing totake the car to a show or down the road only to snap a belt.)
Replaced water pump (While timing belt was off a good time to change, riginal was still in great shape.)
Replaced thermostat and coolant (While coolant was out....)
Replaced brake fluid (Brakefluid absorbs moisture, egular maintenance.)
Replaced transmission fluid (I don't want to trustthe rare 3 speed to old fluid.)
Replaced engine oil and filter (Original owner changed every 6 months, bout every 500or 600 miles!, just wanted fresh)
Replaced air filter (Again, egular maintenance)
Replaced valve cover gasket (Regular maintenance)
Adjusted valve lash (Regular maintenance again)
Cleaned and gapped spark plugs (Regular maintenance)
Replaced and repacked rear bearings (Was planning totow car behind our motorhome, she'sWAY too nice for that)
Replaced rear brake shoes (Originals squealed buthad lots of lining left)
Replaced all 4 tires (Would youfeel comfortable driving 65mph on 35 year old tires?)

This is a rare car, have seen many 2 door hatch-backs for sale over the years but very few 4 doors - even fewer with 40,000 miles and fewer still with an automatic transmission. This was Honda's first 3 speed automatic in the Accord.Honda's were disposable, usted badly and interiors did not hold upvery well and because of this not many survive today, ertainly not in this condition. With one exception I believe this is the nicest first generationHonda Accord I've seen and this one can be had for MUCH less. All of the other cars have had some pretty major flaws (carburetor fires, hredded upholstery, lastic falling apart, ir conditioning that didn't work, illions of miles.....)

Car is sold as-is, here-is with no warranties express or implied.
