Description for International Harvester Scout 1963
This is a 1963 International Harvester Scout 80 4X4 pickup. This truck appears to have been a Military issued truck that was sold surplus. I have no documentation for this but there are a couple of military type ID plates in the cab and engine compartment. The truck also still has a large military type tire and wheel as a spare (loose, ot mounted) and a very large steel military type rear bumper is included (not on the truck anymore). Somebody spent alot of time and money on this truck. The motor appears to have been recently rebuilt and painted. Runs like NEW. hoses, ires etc. NEW. The brakes are NEW all around. The exhaust is recent as is the green paint. Interior and engine compartment are CLEAN. Bed is solid and clean.Underside and floors have some welded patches here and there. welds are clean and solid. the truck has no structural issues or rust through. Some of the body panels are not super straight though... Lots of waves and imperfections. The visible rust in some of the pictures is on the Steel top. And on the steel dividing wall between the cab and the bed. These were located and bolted onto the truck, long with the removable sliding windows.. After the truck was painted. The top needs to be media blasted and rino coated (white would be my choice). And the dividing wall needs to be painted as well. The top and wall are removable. And the top just has surface rust, nside and out, nbsp;no rust through. It is thick steel. The white steel wheels has surface rust only and can be easily cleaned and painted.I think this truck is an incomplete restoration as the gauges in the dash appear to be newer.. But they have not been hooked up? Mileage is unknown. odemeter reads 2700 miles. All running lights and blinkers work. stop lights etc. This truck runs great and the 4x4 can be switched to rear only via the transfer case. And the transfer case has a High and low option. These features all work correctly. The truck comes with 2 EXTRA transmissions and transfer cases that came with the vehicle. these are heavy and their condition is unknown. The truck also has several boxes of parts: gauges, nsignia, adges, iper motors trim. extra windows etc.The truck comes with a can of extra paint and thinner (I think this is the green the truck was painted with? This truck can be trusted and driven just about anywhere... But the top speed is only about 60 mph. with the low gearing... So this vehicle is not meant for the modern freeway.I live an hour Southwest of Chicago. The truck can be inspected and tested... however it does'nt presently have any plates or insurance.Sold AS IS WHERE IS. I will assisted with physically loading this vehicle with YOUR shipper.. But the buyer is responsible for ALL shipping arrangementsGreat truck. No reserve. Thanks
