Description for International Harvester Scout 1980

1980 International Harvester Scout Terra pickup 4x4
I've owned this Scout Terra for about five years, and enjoy using it mainly as a run about/shop truck. It is a solid California desert truck that came to Missouri by way of Kansas where it was stored for a number of years. While in CA, it appears to have been a service truck owned by an Auto Salvage dealer where it got its dents and dings, especially in the bed.
Despite having a locked up motor at the time, I purchased this truck because of the relatively solid body. There are some thin spots in the floors where the original vinyl mat retained moisture and some in the passenger side rocker as shown, that you'd probably want to address before too long. I removed the outer fenders and POR-15'd and undercoated both inners and outers as shown to protect them from any further deterioration. They are solid, nice and straight. Rockers (save the spot on the passenger rocker), body mounts
The original 4 bbl V345 was locked up and was mated to a 3spd manual/D300 (yes, that's the way it was ordered - I have the line stetting ticket). I replaced it with a V304 and T19 4 speed/Dana 20 from a '76 Scout II with unknown miles, good compression and oil pressure. That's the set up it's had since I've been driving, it mainly around town. At that time, I also installed a new aluminum radiator, new water pump, plugs, wires and all fluids. It runs quietly and well, but the carb is next on the list as it hesitates under heavy acceleration. It also has 2.72:1 gears, which make starts a little slower, but cruises nicely down the interstate.
The interior remains true to it's work-oriented life thus far. No radio, a recovered bench seat, heat that will fry an egg, (no AC). The back glass has been cracked since I've had it. Lights, signals, wipers, etc... all works as they should.
It is registered, street legal, licensed, insured and still used regularly until sold. That said, I'd still suggest trailering it home, it is 36 years old.
The truck is also listed for sale locally and auction can be ended early if a previous sale is made.
