Description for Jaguar E-Type 1973

We bought this car from the estate of a gentleman that acquired it while living in California in 1993. We recommissioned it. This is one of the best paint finishes I have laid eyes on. I came to discover that the finish was executed by one of the most respected painters in our area. It seems to be without flaw and was commissioned several years ago by the now deceased owner - of over two decades - (having been in the possession of the first owner two decades as well it appears). I am certain one of the owner's last wishes was more time with the Jag upon which he had such a beautiful finish laid down.
It was at the time it was painted supplied with new front seats by BAS, he backseat is original appears almost new. We installed a new center console because of carelessness on the original. In recommissioning we have rebuilt the carbs, hich are otherwise as original, ew steering arms and ball joints to eliminate any possible play in the steering. The car has been fully serviced, s we thought necessary, o bring into the condition we would demand of our personal cars, nd then some. I having previously had two Series III e-Types as personal drivers, ne OTS and one 2+2 FHC, s well as several XJ 12 sedans found this car to perform beyond what I was accustom.

The car was supplied with new wire wheels when painted. We installed new Dunlops which would been the original brand. The A/C was recommissioned with several new parts to insure its faithful performance. It has fresh plugs, lug wires and cap. Fan relays and thermal switches were replaced, ew air filters and rack boots.
The shop tried not to leave any need unaddressed. I have driven the car and it out accelerates any of the 12 Cylinders cars I have owned, uch a good job was done with the carbs. The exhaust note was enough to draw all of the workers out of my house that is under remodel so they could drool in person.

Note the perfect air dam below the grill opening. This is rare enough but this did not need attention which tells me how much the previous owner babied this car. I can assure you mine never looked like that, t least not for long. The car was originally in California where the first and second owners lived. The second owner brought the car with him to Arkansas when he retired so it is completely rust free and has always been so. I believe the car to be completely clear of bondo as I find no evidence that is ever was wrecked.
Seldom do cars like this come on the market. I would expect a paint job like this to cost me $12,000 to $15,000 if I commissioned one today. The BAS seats you can look up your self. We invested near $25,000 in parts and shop time to recommission the car, n addition to acquiring the car.
I am certain any new owner will find something they think the car might need to bring it to their individual standards although I am uncertain what that might be.
