Description for Jaguar E-Type 1963
1963 Jaguar E-type Coupe-I am selling this car for a friend of mine. It is a project that he put on hold due to some life circumstances. As per the Jaguar Heritage Certificate and the car's ID plate, this is a numbers matching E-type. Meaning the engine (R9471-9), cylinder head (R9471-9), gearbox (EB7003JS) and body (4943) rear end are all original to the car. The original exterior color was opalescent golden sand and the interior was light tan. The car was built December 18th, 1962. It came into the United States through Jaguar Cars of New York and was delivered to one R.M. Minass. We know nothing of Mr. Minass' tenure with the car other that over the years it fell into a state of disrepair.
Flash forward 50 years and you have my friend a business trip in Missouri. He wandered a local shop and discovered this car languishing in the corner. It had been abandoned at the shop and had not seen any love in many years. My friend purchased the car from the owner and shipped it directly to his home in Georgia. He retired shortly thereafter and set about bringing this car back. He had new floors installed along with new inner and outer sills. As an added precaution he had the upper and lower bulk head panels replaced along with the toe kick panel. My friend's life recently has taken a turn that he did not anticipate and, in an effort to get his personal affairs in order, he has asked me to sell his car for him. The car comes with new seat frames, new center console, new front and rear Lucas lenses, reconditioned radius arms and several other bits that he had collected.
As you can see in the pictures, the body still needs more work and the rest of the car needs going through. The engine does not turn but is all there and still assembled. This car is still very much a project but is a very worthy cause. Personally, I think the early coupes are the most beautiful of all the E-types and I find it sad that they are becoming so hard to find.
So, while this car does need a lot more love and some serious dedication, if you ever wanted a Series I Etype coupe, this car represents a great opportunity. Maybe you should start out the new year as an Etype owner. If not now, when? Please feel free to email me with any questions. I will do my best to get back to you in a timely manner.
There is no "Buy it now" for this car and, out of respect for the Ebay community, the auction will run its full term. Messages asking how much the owner will take for the car will go unanswered.
I require a $1000 nonrefundable deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close with payment of the balance within 7 days of auction close via wire transfer.
The car is in Watkinsville, Georgia. You will get a current Georgia Registration and a Notarized (Bill of sale) Please check on shipping costs and arrangements before you bid. You will need to arrange your own shipping but you will find me very flexible and helpful regarding pick up. We can arrange to deliver the car to Ports Charleston in South Carolina, Savannah in Georgia, Brunswick in Georgia or Jacksonville in Florida for an additional $500. Good luck, happy bidding and Happy New Year!
