We're pleased to present this 1973 Jaguar XK-E Series III 2+2.This particular Jaguar XK-E has gone through quite a transformation since it was new. It left the Jaguar factory in Coventry, England with a Green Sand exterior and a tan leather interior. Sometime between 2004 and today, the car's been repainted and reupholstered. It is now Tuxedo Black with a Cinnamon interior, making it very distinctive. The car's paint and trim are in overall excellent order, its bodywork is straight and solid, the cargo area is spotless and the chrome bumpers with their overriders are in brilliant shape. This Jag rolls on Nexen radials, size 205/70R15 at all four corners. Each tire is wrapped around factory wire wheels. The tires are new as of June 2018 while the wheels are in satisfactory order.Under the forward-hinged front clip is Jaguar's 5.3L SOHC V-12 engine with four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Backing up this original engine is an original Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission. Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, power steering and power disc brakes. This Jag received a fresh service in August 2018.Inside, the car's distinctive Cinnamon interior provides an effective combination with the exterior that really stands out. The leather seats look fantastic, the carpet is in satisfactory order, as is the headliner. The instrument panel is in excellent condition while the inner door panels are in very good order. The center console and shift lever are in similar shape to the inner door panels. A Pioneer AM/FM stereo with CD player rounds out this car's interior. The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971. The short wheelbase FHC body style was discontinued, with the Series 3 available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tires, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V-12. Cars for theUSmarket were fitted with large projecting rubber bumper over-riders in 1973 these were on front to meetlocal five mph impact regulations. US models also had side indicator repeats on the front wings. On its release in March 1961,Enzo Ferraricalled it "the most beautiful car ever made.”In 2004,Sports Car Internationalmagazine placed the E-Type at number one on their list ofTop Sports Cars of the 1960s.In March 2008, the Jaguar E-Type ranked first inThe Daily Telegraphonline list of the World's "100 most beautiful cars" of all time.
