VERY Rare 1971 Jeep Custom Wagoneer with 1972 Factory V8 360 ci Engine !!!

Before I begin to explain the details of the item for sale in this auction - kindly allow me to provide some info about me. I am almost 55 years of age - and have been restoring and selling Jeeps since I have been 15 years old. I am very well known on eBay and in Western PA among people seeking to buy professionally restored vintage and antique Jeep vehicles. One of my restored Jeep Gladiators was featured in Jeep Truck Magazine - and was ultimately sold to a private collector in Reno. NV. I do not over restore Jeeps to the point where they lose their vintage class and character - while at the same time I replace anything and everything in less than pristine condition with very difficult to obtain original Jeep NOS parts. I will search for the right part for more than one year - and my average restoration time for one vehicle lasts more than three years. The vehicle I am selling in this auction is likely one of the last Jeeps I will restore - and the single rarest Jeep I have ever seen. Considering my 40+ year Jeep restoration career - it's reasonable to assume that I have a very good understanding of my subject matter. I would encourage anyone who is interested in the 1971 Jeep Wagoneer to " Buy It Now "because it's very unlikely anyone will see another Jeep Wagoneer for sale like this again. While there are a lot of Urban Legends about Jeep Corp doing some crazy things on the assembly line in the early 1970s - this Jeep Wagoneer is no Urban Legend - it's living proof that you can own and drive showing what Jeep did to one of the VERY VERY last Jeep Wagoneers to roll off the assembly line in June 1971 - while 1972 Jeep Wagoneers were rolling off the same line before and after this Jeep. This auction is for a 1971 Jeep Wagoneer 1414c Custom with a 1972 Jeep Factory installed V8 360 ci engine. OK - for those people reading this thinking Jeep Corp made at least 150+ Jeep Wagoneers including the 1414X with a V8 360 ci engine - yes I am familiar with that. I am also familiar with the 1969 Jeep Corp move from the Buick engine to AMC engine. There are several subtle differences between the 1971 AMC 360 ci V8 and the 1972 AMC 360 ci V8 - which include the change from an internally vented carburetor to an externally vented carburetor and changes to the water pump assembly etc. There are NO 1971 AMC 360 ci V8 parts that fit the engine of this Jeep - while ALL 1972 AMC 360 ci V8 parts fit this engine perfectly. Some of the other VERY unique attributes of this Jeep Wagoneer include bucket seats - which were not offered as an option for any 1971 Jeep Wagoneer - but were offered for any 1972 Jeep Wagoneer. The original paint color is a 1972 Presidential Red - and not the AMC 1971 Matador Red - which is a very subtle difference. I purchased this 1971 Jeep Wagoneer from the US Army in Fort Collins. CO where it was very well maintained for 40+ years by US Army auto mechanics. There are no signs this Jeep was ever abused or mistreated in any way - and it has virtually no rust. I was told it was primarily used by visiting personnel to get around the base. All of the mechanical I had completed to this Jeep was done by ASE Licensed and Certified mechanics. I had the opportunity to speak with Patrick Foster who wrote The Story of Jeep and is widely considered the foremost Jeep expert in the world. He told me that he believes there are less than one dozen Jeeps of any model like mine in existence - and while it's impossible to say this was the last 1971 Jeep produced by Jeep Corp - it's certainly one of the last five or ten Jeeps produced that year. It's most likely classified as a Fleet Vehicle - and would never have been shipped to any Jeep Dealer in the USA due to its extremely odd configuration. While it's impossible to estimate the value of this vehicle - Patrick Foster described it as being worth " a lot of money ". Craig Jackson of Barrett-Jackson comments were very similar. The Caaarguide. com list price for a regular restored 1971 Jeep Wagoneer Custom is $ 20. 50 - and this Jeep is far from regular. I began my restoration of this vehicle approximately 36 months ago - and completed it several weeks ago. I spared no expense - and there are a few minor items the new buyer may want to complete before moving it in to their museum. collection. reselling it or entering it in auto shows. I entered this Jeep Wagoneer in a local auto show in the late Fall for fun - and won Best of Show. The items the new owner may want to address include new tires. emergency brake cable. door jamb light switches. removing the after market oil and temp gauge to rewire the original instrument cluster. there is a one inch tear in the head liner and I do not have the factory original bumper jack.
