Description for Jeep Wagoneer 1979
Listed as a Jeep Wagoneer, this '4-door' Jeep Cherokee is a unique factory redesigned / model re-introduction of the two-door body style previously manufactured by American Motors. The two door version had been available in the Jeep Wagoneer line from 1963 to 1967. It wasn't until 1974 that the Cherokee was created and marketed as the "sporty" two-door variant of Jeep's station wagon line, not adding the "sporty" 4 door version until 1977.
For sale is this unique 1979 Jeep Cherokee '4 Door' Wagon. Great running and nice driving vintage wagon still wearing the original paint. A few scratches and minor dings but the body and paint look very nice for being 41 years old. Doors open and close square and tight. Engine oil pan has a small leak. The transmission was recently serviced with new filter and fluid. Tires have plenty of tread and drive straight down the road. All the glass appears to be original to the wagon with possible replacement of the rear window glass?
From what we know the Jeep has been a California wagon all of its life living in the Antelope Valley, Edwards Air Force Base, Mojave Desert areas. Occasionally the wagon was driven to Bear Valley Springs as a 4WD commute when needed. One story of this Jeep, it was originally purchased and owned by a barrier breaking woman who was a top rank test pilot at Edwards Air Force Base, kinda cool and explains the cleanliness and upkeep of this vehicle.
The Jeep is looking for a good home, somebody to take care of it while appreciating the originality. Please ask any questions and or request any photos and I will do my best to answer.
