DESCRIPTION 1971 Land Rover Series IIA

SUPER RARE, FULLY RESTORED 1971 LAND ROVER SERIES IIA. 1971 Land Rover Series IIA. One owner. Original color: Marine Blue. Engine: 2.25L petrol engine 77hp. Transmission: 4 speed manual transmission. Part time 4-wheel drive. Warn manual locking hubs. Wheel base: 88.0 inches. Weight: 3281 lbs. Serial No. 244424736. Original delivery date: 7/26/1971. Selling dealer. Noble Cars, Falmouth, VA. Land Rover Series IIA produced from 1961-1971. 756 imported into U.S in 1971.

History:
Land Rover arrived at port in Baltimore Maryland and was sent to Noble Cars in Falmouth, Va. In 1971.
The original owner, who had recently completed graduate school, called his buddy at Noble Cars to see if he had any Land Rovers on the lot. He did.
He bought the vehicle sight unseen in 1971.
After graduate school, the original owner worked for the National Park Service for approximately 28 years traveling across the country with the Land Rover. Here is a time line of where the Land Rover lived:

1972-1975 Park Ranger. Shenandoah National Park, VA
1973-Drove Land Rover from Virginia to Grand Canyon for 12 week assignment then back.
1975-1980 District Ranger. Zion National Park, Utah
1977 or 1978 painted Land Rover and trailer tan. Cedar City, Utah.
1980-1986 Park Ranger. Blue Ridge National Park, NC
1986-1992 Chief Park Ranger. Cape Cod National Seashore.
The original owner was instrumental in Range Rover being used in Cape Cod beach program as park service vehicles.
1991 or 1992. Purchased ex-mod trailer. Believed to have come from NATO storage in Belgium.
1993-1997. New Mexico. Chief Ranger Southwest region.
1997-1999. Lakewood Colorado. Chief Ranger Rocky Mountain region.
1999 to present. Professional Photographer. Santa Fe, NM. Land Rover Albuquerque purchased Land Rover from original owner on November 7, 2012.

Land Rover was member of Land Rover Solihull Society.
Attended 1995 Land Rover National Rally in Breckenridge Colorado and the 1997 Land Rover National Rally in Red River New Mexico.
11/07/2012. Land Rover moves to Land Rover Albuquerque.
Restoration February-August 2013.

Auction Close:

Successful "winning" bidder must contact seller within 24 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction.
Within (4) business days of the end of auction, full payment must be received either by cashiers-check, approved bank draft, or certified funds. If funds are not received, and an alternate arrangement has not been made, the vehicle can and will be made available to other potential buyers on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Vehicle Transportation:

We want you to be completely satisfied with your online automotive experience from purchase to delivery. However,we are not responsible for shipping and transport arrangements but we will assist you. All shipping charges are the "Buyer's" responsibility. We will help with shipping arrangements but will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage. Licensed "Carriers" are generally insured for $500,000. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves our showroom. All shipping arrangements provided by us are strictly a courtesy. We are not affiliated with any carrier. Any claims or other communication regarding shipment of vehicles will be between you and the "Carrier" and not with us. The amount of time it takes for delivery depends upon the "Carrier" selected. A typical experience is 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the "Carrier" for an Estimated Time of Arrival to be sure.

Payment:

We accepts cashiers’ checks, certified funds, or verified drafts from known/approved financial institutions. Financing is available to qualified customers however it must be completed before end of auction.
All buyers will be charged applicable sales tax, DMV fees and registration fees for State the vehicle will be registered in. Out of State buyers may register and pay applicable taxes in their home state.

Warranty:
Please ask us for any details. Some vehicles will have factory warranty remaining (will be stated in our description). Some vehicles may qualify for warranties at additional costs(call for details) All cars come with one master key unless otherwise stated. Vehicles come with books and/or manuals only if pictured in photo gallery and/or if stated in the ad. If there is no stated warranty on the vehicle then it will be sold ‘As-Is’ with no warranty.
