This is the THE classic Land Rover of the movies etc. (see pix). Desirable Series IIA 1966 Short Wheel Base (88 inch). RIGHT HAND DRIVE (UK drive). Classic Green/Tan. This is the "inside the wings" mounted headlights type. Free wheeling hubs etc. Good running condition. with many new parts and tires. We just replaced all the starter system. and it's had brakes. steering column rebuilt. seals. new gas tank. and much more. Bought and had professionally restored in UK late 1980s (have the photos). with full service record. Excellent "new" restore candidate for enthusiast or resale. Originally diesel. engine replaced with a used gas one in the 1990s. and very low local driving since (less than 1000 a year). but actual miles unknown. This was a SWB pickup model (rarer) which is why the spare is mounted inside and explains interior configuration. Longer cab hard top was added in the 1970s. It had local farm use in UK before I bought it. Basically needs cosmetics to refresh as would be expected after 25 plus years since last restore (roof respray and some touch ups). Need heater rebuilt. and high/low gear transfer repaired (it was disabled by previous owner in the 1980s. It went straight to restoration after purchase and we didn't think to open the gearbox at the time. I only figured it out after the restoration and mechanics tell me it's just blocked. It was only used on roads and motorways so I never got round to having it done). LH Interior door frame could be replaced (photos) but otherwise very sound -- hence price. Has been a daily driver for years and maintained professionally locally. Stateside parts from Rovers North. Passed safety inspection for Virginia. This is obviously an "as is" purchase. Serious only please. I have various manuals for it including owners manual and shop manual -- I do not work on cars. these were given to me by friends. It still has UK plates as I kept that number when I registered it in the US with VA plates. I cannot finance. $1000 deposit PayPal. Cash. transfer or cashiers checks balance.
