Description for Lincoln Continental 1968
Up for sale is my beautiful 1968 Lincoln Continental 2 Door Coupe Hard Top. I have owned this car for the last couple of years and have had plans to make it a pro touring, ut plans have changed and think it should stay more original for someone else to enjoy. Car has always been in dry storage and I have always driven the car at least 2-5 miles a month to keep the fluids circulated. This is a very low mileage original car with the 7.6L 462 engine with only 25,000 miles. The previous owner put a cut in black paint job about 3 or 4 years ago. Did a cut in because all chrome accents and trim are all original and did not want to remove or risk damage. The paint job is about a 7/8 out of 10 and in my opinion with a light wet sand and heavy buff and polish could be a 9, ut as is, s a beautiful 10 footer when clean. There is no body rust and very light surface rust (as expected for 47 yr old car) on frame and undercarriage. The previous owner replaced all plugs, ires, oses and belts at the time of the paint job as well. The interior is all original and is a dark avocado rind green with normal wear on the drivers seat and light cracking which is common in 47 yr old leather. There is only one golf ball size tear in headliner in back seat area next to the hanger hook, nd a crack in the dash next to the speaker which I have a molded dash cover on, rdered specifically for this car. All gauges work, nd I have the radio, hich is removed from dash as I had plans on putting in a Vintage MP3 player radio to match the original but never did. As you can see it has upgraded 20" rims and tires, ut I have the original 4 Lincoln Hub Caps. The original owner kept up with most maintenance records, he owners manuals, riginal car parts (fuel pump etc) when it needed to be changed. I have put a true dual Magna Flow exhaust system on the car (nice low rumble), ew Edelbrock 1406 carburetor, delbrock Pro Flow Series Air Cleaner (Have original), ll new tires with an extra set for the front, nd that is all I needed to do. The car starts and runs very well and would feel comfortable taking her out for a 100 mile + drive. The Heater Core is not working as it was bypassed by previous owner. The AC holds Charge, ut I think needs heater core replaced and re hooked up for everything to work properly. I never minded as this was more of a late evening or Fall and Spring driver with the windows down. The car has been used in a few photo shoots and is a definite head turner wherever you go. Everyone always knows of the suicide door or the 70's Mark III, ut not many have ever seen a 2 Door 68 Coupe. This car is for sale locally as well with a lot of interest so auction could end early. Local Pick up or can help with shipping. Cash, ank Wire or Cashiers Check Only. Title within 24hrs of receipt of payment.
