Description for Lincoln Continental 1941
I am using my sons account because he gets 6 free listings-you can check me out to see that I am one of the good guys;-)my ebay selling name is 3nevets and have been selling on ebay for quite a whileAnyway Idecided to part with my 1941 LincolnThis was my dads favorite year-I think thats why I sold my Hudson convertible to buy this-The car was part of an estate and sat for quite a number of years but before he died he had the motor freshened up with new rings and bearings.I believe that because I pulled the oil pan down to replace the oil pump and while the pan was down I popped a main cap as well as a rod cap off and I see no wear on the bearings plus I can still see hone marks on the cylinder walls.I also pulled the intake and it was pretty darn clean. The car runs well but smokes when she gets hot, now I don't know if maybe a ring cracked because the car sat for 30 plus years and when they started ita ring was stuck? I would suggest the motor be rebuilt because the car is really a decent car.The car goes down the road nice and tight. The bumpers-grille and other brightwork have been replated in the past and look good. The top works as it should-all the gauges with the exception of the speedometer work-I don't know if the overdrive works because I don't know how it works.Horn works as well as the wipers.Thereis no heating system. The vent windows as well as the fresh air vent need attention because they don't open. The window regulators in the doors also need to be looked at because the windows need help closing. Now on to the sheetmetal-it appears the outer rockers have been replaced, there is some smallholes up by the front in the area where the back part of the fender mounts-i'll show this with some underneath pics-I think this was a common area because I had 4 post war Lincolns that had the same issue. The floors are solid as well as the trunk. The splash pan is the worst part of the whole car and Ill show pics of that. The following is what I have done so far.
I have put on all new brakes-brake lines-brake hoses-wheel cylinders-mastercylinder-wheel bearings-seals-exhaust-fuel lines-radiator hoses-plugs,wires-coker radials -4 shocks.
I am located in the hudson valley NY 12589
The car is a 10 footer and really is not that bad-I have been around and have owned some really nice old cars since my early 20's and that was 35 plus years ago
