Description for Lincoln Continental 1963

Alright. we have as listed. a 1963 Lincoln Continental 4 Door. The renderings display the ultimate goal; however. the project's interest has been lost. For the right person. this is a chance to own and build an amazing one-of-a-kind car. The car has been completely stripped and body has been modified with the removal of all "rain gutters". flared wheel-wells (to accommodate larger diameter). and rear 1/4 panels were extended. The metal below the suicide doors has been added as well. The factory gap between bumpers and the body panels has also been eliminated via newly welded bumper mounts. The vehicle is completely disassembled. stripped and has been "E-Coated" and ready for final bodywork. There is over $5. 00 invested in the E-Coating alone. plus another $10. 00 in bodywork: Tucked fenders modified wheel wells (as stated above). It’s important to note the base vehicle was stored in an Oregon garage for 20+ years and had very little rust. arguably the best body we’ve ever seen. All the hard work is done for you. This is your chance to build your dream car! "E-Coating is actually the second step in a process which a metal surface is prepared for painting. First. the body of the vehicle is chemically stripped and cleaned of any unwanted materials such as body filler. paint. grease. rust. or any other material that could affect the quality of the final product. This step provides us with a vehicle that is reduced to its basic elements and ready for the metal work to begin without weakening or removing any good metal. In many cases. it will provide for a much more accurate time and materials estimate since we know exactly what we have to work with. Once the vehicle has been chemically stripped and the majority of the metal repair and replacement has been completed. the vehicle is ready for E-Coating. The coating process consists of a series of 13 operations that provide the metal with a surface that is ready for finishing coats of paint. The first eight steps of the process prepare the metal by submerging the body of the vehicle in a series of tanks that wash and then coat it with a rust inhibiting layer. The next step is to dip the vehicle into the electrostatically charged E-Coat tank. which covers every square inch of the interior and exterior of the body and electrically bonds the primer to the surface of the metal. After the body is passed through three more conditioning and washing tanks. it is cured in a baking oven. The vehicle is now ready to begin the final body work touches and be prepped for paint. "Vehicle is sold AS IS with original. running engine and transmission (not installed). wheels. tires. glass (no windshield). interior (needs re-upholstering). and all other original parts removed. We placed rear-end. engine/tranny and all other parts on a series of pallets ready for transport. Buyer is responsible for pickup and or any shipping costs associated. Vehicle is located in Milwaukee. WI.
