Description for Lincoln Continental 1940

Well, I never thought it would happen, I fought it as long as I could, but my kids are winning and now are nagging me into downsizing. It's true that I have too many projects to finish in lifetime, and this age thing is creeping up on me, and i hate to admit it but.....so here goes. Loraine (that's her name), my 1940 Lincoln Continental Convertible is now for sale. Loraine along with what's left of a parts car. are probably going to be the first to go. Originally there were two cars and her previousowner started restoring her, and he ran out of time (like we all do sooner or later) and I bought the partly restored car from his widow. I was, of course, going to continue Loraine's restoration "as soon as I have the time" or "when I finish this one" etc. (you know how that goes, I am sure!) Loraine, and an GREAT amount of body parts, are now for sale. Loraine is about 95% complete. Almost every part that has an age (rust) problem has been reproduced. There is about two of everything (and sometimes three) except the drive train. Only 1 frame and1 V12 and trans. There are parts of another drive train but not a complete extra one. She has a new dash and two sets of top irons amongother parts. Upholsteryis there for patterns. There is no way that I am going to list all the extra parts but there is a TON of them. Loraine is 80% apart. I am including some pictures of the fenders. Note the condition of these! Fenders are usually a BIG problem in restoration. These are beautiful! And there are more than 4 of these! I am not a Ford man. My interests lies in the cars from the 1920's, so what I tell about is what I have been told to me. My Ford friends tell me that when Loraine is restored, she is worth quite a bit. Loraine is a true registered classic. And that there were very few of them produced. The story about them says that they were all hand made. And to make it even better, Loraine is an even rarer convertible ! I am sure that she would be even worth more, when finished, if she had a secrete life. I know of none. If she does, she is keeping it to herself. As far as I know neither Elvis, nor Rhett and/or Scarlet Butler, nor Ashley Wilkes, nor Jimmy Stewart, nor Alan Ladd, nor David O. Selnick, nor anybody else who is famous, did ride in, did own, nor even see Loraine. Sorry! Now my CMA part. Loraine is where is and as is. She comes with no warranted or guarantee. Transportation is the project and cost of the buyer and she must be moved in 30 days. Please, if you don't intend to buy Loraine don't bid! The reserve is reasonable and the deal I offer is very good.
