Presented by Classic Investments in Englewood, Co, is a 1962 Maserati 3500GTi in the same state it was found in. This car has been stored in a cool dry climate for many years and therefor has been relatively preserved since it was taken off the road many years ago. This car is extremely original and we are aware of all of its history since new. If you are interested here is an interview with the second owner of this vehicle:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HX4NHqgcnws&t=65s
This car is an excellent candidate for a restoration, especially as it retains nearly all of its original materials and finishes, so there will be very little question as to what is and is not correct when bringing it up to Concours spec. Inside the interior is completely unmodified, save for the front two seats that were reupholstered during the second owners tenure with the car. The gauges in the dash are all intact and in very nice shape, most likely have never left their resting place. As you can see in the photos this car even includes a rare original Maserati factory key. Inside the trunk everything is just as it was originally, still sporting all the coverings and a spare tire that is seemingly unused since new. This car is missing its tool roll, but has its original jack.
Inside the engine bay lives the original, numbers matching inline six that helped put Maserati on the map back in the 1960s. The engine does turn over. The rare Lucas Fuel Injection system is completely intact, still attached to the valve cover and intake manifold. Many of these cars have had these systems removed and replaced with Weber carburetors when they were relatively new. The bottom side of the hood even has its insulation still intact, very rare indeed.
When new this car was painted silver, the color was changed at some point during the first owners time with the car. Luckily the body gaps and condition of the aluminum is still excellent. Every panel fits like it would have from the factory, with tight consistent gaps bordering each door and decklid. All the brightwork, badges, and exterior trim is intact and on the car, and fitting remarkably well. Small issues like missing or ill fitting trim can be very costly, so it is very valuable to star with a car with excellent fitment. It is rare to find an aluminum bodied car from this era that is not littered with dings and dents as they used very soft alloys in this time. This car has stood the test of time and is very straight from every angle, and has absolutely no major rust or corrosion.
Our Facility here in Colorado where the car is located is very experienced in restoring and servicing these vehicles so we are available to restore any part of this car.
Restored examples typically bring $300,000-$400,000
