Description for Mercedes-Benz 500-Series 1993
The time has come for me to sell some of my toys because of lack of space. Up for sale is a 1993 Mercedes Benz 500E vehicle that's in very good condition. If you do not know anything about these cars. from 1992 - 1994 Mercedes had a partnership with Porsche were the car was hand built and transported between the Mercedes and Porsche factories where both shared in the creation and assembly of what's called a wolf in sheep's clothing. As a result. you have a car that can sprint from 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. Because of the collaboration. approximately 500 500Es were imported into the US for each year of production. To put this into perspective. Audi produced 8. 50 Audi R8s each year it was in production and other manufactures produced as many as 800. 0 per year as in the case of some Toyota models. This car has over 300. 00 miles but one would never know based upon the exterior or the way the vehicle drives. Car is still very strong. straight and places a smile on my face every time I drive it. Note this car has reached classic car status according to NADA guides and has an average value of $10-16k. Because of the demand from those who know and follow these vehicles. come 500E are being sold at a premium. The pricing of this 500E is such that you will not exceed the average value in costs to bring this vehicle to 9 or 10 on a 1-10 scale. Save money and buy with confidence from owner vs buying from a reseller. The 500 has the following differences over the standard E-Class vehicles of same period: * M119 5. 0L V-8 Engine producing 326BHP (and 354 lb/ft torque) * 2. 82 gearing ratio * Flared front and rear wheel arches (Wider for wider alloys) * Recaro leather seats * Rear wood console between back seats * Jetronics Ignition System * Front wider apron and front foglights (Wider front end for arches) * Lower. stiffer suspension setting (9" lower) * Bigger brakes and brake calipersCondition: * Interior = 8. What's needed to bring it to a 10? Driver seat (as pictured) as a rip in the bolster that needs repair and headliner is sagging. All other seats are in great condition including carpeting. * Exterior = 8. Need to replace headlight/foglight lens and replace cracked windscreen. Vehicle has original paint that stills shines without waxing. * Electrical = 8. Radio fuse recently started to blow. Will need to trace reason. The radio fuse also affects the sunroof and heated seats. * Wheels/Tires = 5. I'm rating this as a 5 because this car needs 2 rear tires. 275/30/19. Front tires have more than 70-80% of its tread. Also need spare tire and there is a dry rot crack circling around the inner rim. The spare tire appears to hold air but it should be replaced as a precautionary measure. * Engine/Transmission = 8. Engine is strong. Transmission is strong and shifts smoothly. Rated an 8 because I'd recommend a tune-up after purchase. Spark plugs replaced a year ago. but full tune-up has not been done in close to 5 years.
