Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1982
For sale is our 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300SD. The car has approximately 297,000 miles.According to the extensive records included with the car, this Mercedes was delivered new in the Los Angeles area. It has been very, very well maintained through the years. The most recent maintenance items that have been done include the battery, valve adjustment, power steering pump seals, oil change, fuel and air filters, transmission cooler line, rear-end fluid, headlight, and repainted the rims.
The car starts, runs, drives, and stops very well. A previous owner installed a coolant heater, which works very well to warm the engine. There is only a slight oil leak, which requires virtually no oil to be added between changes. The transmission shifts like a diesel Mercedes(crisp and sometimes clunky), and the brakes are very responsive (4-wheel discs).
I have a complete service history on this car dating back to early 90s, which also includes the original window sticker. The service records total in excess of $10,000 and includes but is not limited to vacuum pump, alternator, A/C system, window regulators, transmission services, vacuum line replacement. Everything works on this car with the exception of the rear passenger side window and the antenna does not got up or down, (it is currently in the up position). The A/C system operates flawlessly but I have noticed that it hasn'tbeen getting as cold as it used to so will need a top up. Note the power door locks also work and original tool kit is there.
The only notable interior wear is along the door seals and the seat adjuster switch for both the driver and passenger are broken (seat motors work, just switchesare broken) both are pictured. The Mercedes will need motor mounts in the near future as there is a slight vibration at idle when in gear and a vibration at highway speeds.
Considering that this car is 35 years-old and is approaching 300,000 miles, it is in great condition, and is a pleasure to drive. I know that a potential buyer may have questions, and I certainly welcome those questions. I hope this car will go to someone that truly appreciates these cars. They are truly unique.Feel free to contact Cal with any questions 208-695-8743
