Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL, Completely Original, Immaculate Condition, Very Low Miles

I am reluctantly selling my 1974 Mercedes Benz 450 SEL. This car is a completely original SEL with no modifications. The car has always been properly maintained with no expense spared in its maintenance and upkeep. The car has never had any rust and still retains its original Astral Silver metallic (color code no. 735) factory paint with the exception of the hood and roof which were repainted due to checking in the clearcoat layer. a common problem with metallics from this era. The paint is in remarkably good shape and still has a wonderful shine. This SEL was sold new by Rallye Motors and remained with its original owner until 2011. This car has never been restored and is remarkably original and complete. showing only minimal wear. All original equipment and accessories are with the car. including owner’s and service manuals. jack. spare and toolkit. The car even has the original factory spare tire which has never been used. Other than replacement tires. the exterior is as it left the factory. including all chrome. rubber seals and glass. The interior. like the exterior. remains untouched. including the seats. carpets. headliner and floormats. The carpets show no wear. I thought about reupholstering the rear seat bottom at one point but decided the seats had a nice patina and left it alone. A new owner might consider replacing the rear seat pad as the leather itself is in great shape. A new NLA Mercedes seat pad is included with the sale. The only non-original interior item is a period radio with CD player. The engine and transmission are original and unmodified. The engine runs very well and the transmission shifts smoothly. All switches. gauges and systems function properly and as designed. Whenever replacement parts were necessary. only original Mercedes parts were used. This car has always been in moderate climates and has been properly stored when not in use. This included a heated and humidity controlled garage. Wonderfully preserved. the car displays the patina of years of careful use. The car currently has 21. 07 documented miles. I have all service records from new. This is a very pleasurable car to drive and a very nice example of the first generation S-Class with excellent all-around capability. Looking at and driving this car. it is evident that it has always been treated with the respect and care it deserves. I will be happy to answer any questions and welcome any inspections.
