Description for Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 1965
This 220 SE Coupé has a 2195cc mechanically fuel injected six-cylinder engine. I purchased this Mercedes Coupé in May of 1992. It is a European market car with odometer measuring in kilometers and standard four speed transmission with floor shifter. The odometer reads 61361 kilometers which is 37128 miles. I believe the actual mileage to be 161361 kilometers which would be 100265 miles. When I purchased the car in May of 1992 the odometer reading was 151850 kilometers (94150 miles). This classic was an extra car for weekend and summer pleasure not a daily driver. When I purchased the car it was in excellent condition. It drove beautifully. The dashboard and door panels were recovered. The paint (the car had been repainted) and the chrome shined beautifully. The tan seats are in excellent condition no holes rips or tears. The seats look and feel like leather but are actually Mercedes Benz Tex vinyl which lasts forever. No expense was spared in the maintenance of the car. Oil and filter changed every 4500 kilometers (3000 miles) by Mercedes trained mechanic who also installed front suspension rubber mounts steering coupling and a brake master cylinder. The rear window seal was replaced. The car has been a pleasure to own and drive. In October of 1992 the heater core sprang a leak. I pulled the carpet up in front and cleaned it thoroughly. The carpet was allowed to dry and was saved. The metal floor did not suffer any corrosion because we spotted the leak immediately and addressed it. You can see photos here of the solid metal floor. I left the heater core disconnected. Life got busy and I stopped driving the car. The car has always been garage kept. Since 1999 my adored Mercedes Benz Coupé has been waiting for me in enclosed storage facility shown in pictures here with car cover to protect it from dust. Over the years I have intended to get it out and drive it again but it never happened. I am finally willing to let it go to a new owner who will enjoy it as I have. You can look up history and production numbers on Wikipedia. If you are searching for Classic Mercedes Benz W111 Coupés you already know that these cars are very desirable and rising in value. On May-31-15 at 11:47:21 PDT seller added the following information:Sunday: I have put the front carpets back and taken pictures of them back in place. I added a picture of the front driver's side carpet but cannot add pictures of the drivers side and center carpet as the listing is maxed out on pictures. Please message me if you would like pictures of the other front carpets or any other detail of the car.
