Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very well-preserved MG TD Roadster. This car was recently purchased out of the garage of a long time California owner in the sunny seaside city of San Clemente. This car has never been restored or taken apart, and still retains it's original matching numbers engine, which turns nicely by hand. This car appears to have been off the road for the last 15 years, since 2001, as evidenced by it's original black and yellow license plate. It has lived in a gentle climate for all of it's life.
The body on this car is very solid, along with the car's original ash wood framing. There are the usual dings and dents from a lifetime of use, but restoration should be quite straightforward. At one time, the car was repainted in it's current red. The car still retains most of it's original green interior trim.
The original matching numbers engine turns nicely by hand and may even run with a little bit of work. The car was reportedly running fine when parked, but the brakes needed attention. The underchassis appears very solid and normal for the car's age/mileage with excellent sheetmetal and solid wood.
The chromework and other body fittings appear all original to the car.
Overall, an excellent, straight, very original example of a California MG TD in need of straightforward restoration. It is sold with it's original jack and handle, spare tire changing tools, original crank handle, and all of it's correct and original brass ID plates.
