Description for Nash LAFAYETTE 3512 1935
This is a 1935 Nash Lafayette model 3510 three window coupe survivor car. It is licensed and has a clear Colorado title. The car is pretty original, still six volt. The seats are not correct. I did not drill any new holes to install them and I do have the original seat but it needs total rebuild. The engine has been rebuilt and has 791 miles on it. All the glass has been replaced with safety glass. Starter, generator water pump, fuel pump are rebuilt. Some of the pictures show the incorrect headlamps on the car. The longer bullet ones are on it now.It comes with two sets of tires and wheels. The white 16 inch wheels are original, however, the tires on them are too small and not tall enough. The aluminum wheels are 15 inch and are taller so the engine RPM's are lower, it has a 4:70 rear end ratio. If you want just one set of tires and wheels I will refund $500.00 when car is picked up. It doesn't matter which set.
The original paint was Gray and the green paint was painted in the early fifties. This car has been garaged since 1955 and there is no rust damage at all. Radiator has been replaced and I have the original radiator ( needs repair and new core ).
This is a pretty rare car as production for the Lafayette was very low for 1935 less than 1200 and that included all models. I don't know how many business coupes were made. I have only found less than 10 coupes over the last two years on the internet and one of them is mine. Also 1935 was a split year production. Early 1935 ( long hood horizontal side louvers ) body style was like the 1934 body ( long hood vertical side louvers ) and later 1935 body style was like the 1936 body more of a airflow design.
My buddy and I drove it in the "HOT ROD HILL CLIMB" this year. Check it out on the web. Any questions just ask or email me your phone number and when to contact you.
I got one question about the back window it does roll up and down, however this car does not have a rumble seat. Also I do have the trunk handle and the door lock but I don't have the keys for them.
