Description for Nash Metropolitan 1960
You are looking at one of the best AMC (Nash) Metropolitans currently for sale. This beautiful 1960 Metropolitan “Series IV” convertible received a full nut and bolt restoration 8 years ago at the world famous Metropolitan Pit Stop. It has been meticulously maintained and garaged ever since. It has not been driven in the rain and is just as clean underneath as up top. The car wears its correct Black over Frost White two-tone paint scheme along with the correct grey diamond-patterned upholstery trimmed in white vinyl. It has been cared for by the same owner for over 4 decades. It came to us already in good shape and was subsequently disassembled and prepared for a complete restoration. Every inch of the car received attention and all mechanical systems were rebuilt or replaced. A great deal of attention was paid to keeping everything on the car as original, including the new lacquer coated braid-over-strand wiring harness and wide whitewall tires. The body was stripped to bare metal and painted insideand out, top to bottom. The engine, transmission, and differential were rebuilt to factory specifications. The chrome was all redone, and the stainless trim straightened and polished to a mirror finish. The brakes, steering and suspension were all disassembled, powder-coated and rebuilt to factory specifications with new components where available. About 2,600 trouble-free miles have been put on the car since completion. The car is nearly perfect, with a handful of very small and very minor paint blemishes. They are hard to see in person and almost impossible to capture on camera. There are no dings, dents or scratches. The interior is perfect. Detailed pictures throughout the restoration are available. This Metropolitan would make an excellent addition to any collection, or a great way to start one. Currently registered with a clean Iowa title. To prepare the car for sale we changed the oil, adjusted the valves, and flushed the brake and clutch hydraulic fluids. It is truly turn key and ready to go.We have done our best to accurately describe the car, but we encourage potential buyers to examine the photos, ask questions, and see the car in person. The car is being sold as-is, where-is with no warranties expressed or implied. The car is located in North Hollywood, CA and is available for showing at Metropolitan Pit Stop M-F 9-6. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but we will do our best to work with the transport company. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction, with the remaining balance due within 7 days. Thank you for looking!
