Description for Nissan 300ZX 1984
I purchased this car in 2008 to fulfill a longtime dream of owning an AE. After owning a couple other Z31 Turbos, always thought the 50th Anniversary 300ZX was the coolest looking car of their era! Anyway, searched for several years and finally found this car locally. The previous owner, retired professor, ad it since 1988 (a photocopy of the previous title will be included). Over the next couple years, did much maintenance and many updates to bring it to its current fun, eliable state. No expense was spared making sure this car was ready for a road trip, utocross event, hatever. Since then, 've just been driving it on nice days and enjoying it. Here are some highlights of what's been done:11/08 Replaced any missing/broken interior fasteners and trim, nstalled new (reproduction) AE floor mats, eplaced bumper stripes
2/09 Replaced headliner
4/09 Replaced distributor
5/09 Replaced o2 sensor, attery
7/09 Replaced AIV, PS, all joints, ie rod ends. Installed Tokico Illumina adjustable shocks, ibach lowering springs, rothane subframe bushings. 4-wheel alignment.
5/10 Replaced right side exhaust manifold, nstalled CM 2.5" cat-back exhaust w/test pipe. Modified POV to allow higher boost. Installed manual boost controller - set to .7bar (10 PSI).
6/10 Rewired injectors to OEM spec (undid wiring shortcut portion of recall for better drivability)
7/10 Old window tint stripped and retinted - 20%
9/13 Complete 60k service with OEM Nissan parts (Timing belt & water pump, ranny, iff, nd brake fluids changed, tc). Replaced CHTS.
10/13 Replaced rear brake rotors & pads
11/13 Replaced clutch master & slave cylinders, new stainless hose to eliminate damper
12/14 Clutch replaced w/OEM Nissan parts. Flywheel resurfaced.2/15 Replaced battery.
I've driven it about 15k miles over the last 7 years. Oil has been changed 6 times, lways with synthetic - always with a Nissan filter. It stays garaged and it gets stored in a heated warehouse every winter. Current mileage is around 175k. Runs great, -speed tranny shifts perfect, tc. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Fuel pressure goes low after it sits for several hours, o sometimes you might need to start it twice. Been like that as long as I've owned it - suspect fuel pump check valve is bleeding down. No big deal. Gas gauge goes dim or dark sometimes, ut the low fuel light works just fine. Again, een like that since I got it. Compass isn't accurate and the headlight washers don't spray. No other known issues. All maintenance items including brakes, elts, luids, tc. are nearly new. Tires all match and have about 95% tread remaining. It has an Alpine CD player with some nice speakers (all professionally installed).
This car is ready to ENJOY. It's not one of those "project cars" that will eat up all your time and money before you ever get to drive it. All work was done by me personally, r a local hi-end specialty shop. There are some cosmetic/paint issues and minor rust that could stand to be addressed if you want a show-winner, ut as you can see the curb appeal is great! Previous owner had lower-body rust repaired around 15 years ago and some of it could use attention again. I had the rear floor boards professionally repaired with welded-in steel 4 or 5 years ago. I would drive this car anywhere without a second thought.
I've had so much fun with this car, ut the time has come to let it go. I've seen what's available in the market. My reserve is set lower than some of the "project" AE's I've seen out there. Bid to buy! Don't miss your chance to own this great example of an AE that you can drive home with a smile.
