All of the redesign work that went into the Super 88 was done one year ahead of its competitors in Chevrolet and Pontiac which led to a lot of success for Oldsmobile. The redesign for 1958 over 1957, the body was larger and the headlamps went from two to four. The Super 88 is still one of the most chrome-clad cars of any era.
