Description for Opel 1900 1969

Relisted due to past winning bidder not honoring his bid!
Additional work completed on the Opel GT (New Transmission Pan Gasket, Weber Carb Rebuilt & New Battery Installed) plus Reserve Has Been Lowered!! Bidders: Please, only bid if you are serious on following through with purchasing!
I have for sale a fairly rare 1969 Opel GT with an automatic transmission imported from Germany by Buick. This is an early production car as the 1968 starting year stayed mostly in Europe. The Opel GT has a beautiful stylish design that mimicked the 1968 Corvette and was often called the "poor man's corvette".. Although relatively underpowered by todays standards with the 1.9 liter engine it is still very nimble and quick handing making it a blast to drive. Being a fragile sports car there are not many still in existence plus a lot of them were converted to drag racing cars during the 1970's. To find one this complete and original with low miles is very hard to do. Has optional map light on passenger side.
This 1969 is still in extremely nice condition with a driver quality restoration sometime in the past. It is a true 52,000 mile example car with the original 1.9 liter engine and automatic transmission. Body is really straight and solid and the interior is equally as nice with great seats, dash, headliner and carpet. Original red car with black interior. Chrome bumpers are bright and solid. Paint has great gloss (which has been buffed) and all glass is in super condition. Engine is solid and very clean. Only mechanical issue noticed is the automatic transmission appears to have a slight leak from the transmission front seal. Most likely due to setting around and not being driven much. The pan gasket has been replaced which help considerably. New coil, plugs, rotor, cap, points and new battery have been installed. The Weber carb has been rebuilt. Paint is very nice but not concourse quality. A very nice 3' job! The B.F. Goodrich white letter tires and chrome American racing wheels along with the black interior really set off the red paint. Monza quad tip exhaust installed and engine has a 2 bbl. Weber carb. All together this makes for a very stunning and unique sports car.
Note, this car is almost completely finished and in drivable condition but there still are a few small items to complete on it. Please review the following and consider as I want to disclose as much as I know about this car prior to you bidding:
* Some of the gauges are not showing that they are operational - possible fuse, wire or gauge. Some do work. Original AM radio installed but not working.* Above mentioned slight automatic transmission leak.* Some minor body emblems need installed - most included.* Rear back up light needs installed and wired - included.* Lower front grill and parking lights are not installed but are included.* Car may need a bit of TLC since it has been in storage but otherwise it is ready to have fun with!
Here is your chance to own a rare Buick Opel GT Sports Car that stands heads above most any that have come up for sale. It can be enjoyed as is with original engine and trans or converted to a vintage drag car with a V8 swap if so desired.
As a special bonus this car comes with 2 huge tubs of additional spare parts & factory parts, many in original Opel boxes. There are also extra lenses, door cards, and interior pieces that will come with the car for the winning bid. At least $1,000 worth of parts.
As disclosed there are a few small things to tinker with and the car is being sold "As Is As Best Described". No warranties or guaranties are implied. Clear Title in hand.
My reserve is very reasonable for such a solid and rare Opel GT!
Winning bidder to submit deposit of $750.00 within 24 hours to my Pay Pal account & balance due within 7 days by bank transfer, bank cashiers check or cash. Buyers responsibility to arrange for pick up and transpiration of vehicle. Can work with you on the timing.
Bidders Please Note - Do not bid unless you intent to follow through with the purchase!! Previous bidder backed out after winning due to so called "wife not approving"!!
Please e-mail me with any questions or if you want additional pics prior to bidding. I will be happy to send them.
