The “Metz Special” Roadster was introduced in late 1912 by Metz in order to meet competition in the low priced runabout range, and was priced at $395., or $100 under the Standard Model.
The “Metz Special” was produced in 1913 only, and was distinguishable from the Standard Roadsters by its Vermillion body color, quite different from the Standard’s normal Metz color scheme of dark blue with cream wheels.
The “Metz Special” carried the water-cooled four-cylinder engine with 3 ¾ x 4 inch bore and stroke, which gave 22 horse power. Friction Drive was still featured.
It is equipped with artillery wheels with a 56-inch width track.
This “Metz Special” features leather upholstery, Carbide Head Lamps and Non-Skid tires.
